Hi Ho, Hi Ho, It's off to eat we go! 24 ADR's/7 Trips-THE TEA. Complete...for NOW

After Kona, I headed back to the Magic Kingdom. I truly love this place. I rode Peter Pan, Snow White (for the first time), Carousel of Progress, TTA, etc. What a great day!

Then I headed to lunch...but I was a little early, so I caught some entertainment.

Then I decided it was time to check in to...
IMG_1950.jpg

The Plaza! The Plaza was a last minute ADR, and I wasn't totally sure what to expect.
IMG_1951.jpg

I had a little bit of a wait, so I took a seat to wait and enjoy the scenery...and by little bit of a wait, I mean 5 minutes.

After I was seated, I ordered an iced tea, and a turkey club and subbed a croissant for the bread it was offered on, and fries.

Serious YUM!

This is a perfect midday meal for a long day at the park! It was filing but not overly heavy. The atmosphere was light and quiet. My service, compared to other restaurants was mediocre, but it was a great place for a solo diner to watch out the window the world pass by!

I would definitely eat here again!

Mirror, Mirror on the wall, did you think the Plaza was a ball?
:lovestruc:love::lovestruc:love: (out of 5)

It will probably be a few years before I eat here again, because I have several other restaurants I want to try in MK, but I will be very happy to return someday!

wow that Plaza sandwich looks yummy I LOVE croissant sandwiches because the bread is so airy and that sandwich looks like they didn't cheat u on anything nice and big but not stuff the meat everytime u take a bite big :rotfl:.. now i'm going to have to seriously consider the plaza!

All those trips... Lucky you! I just booked Flying Fish for June. Can't wait!!!

Count me in the for fun. :goodvibes

Glad to hear that you enjoyed the Plaza, we love it! I had a club, wish I'd have thought to sub the croissant, looked yummy!:thumbsup2

Wow, that sandwich looks absolutely amazing. We are going back to the Plaza on our next trip - we love it.

Hi Figment!

Your reviews are fab and your pictures are amazing!

This is a weird request but could you tell me what camera you used to take those pictures! I'm looking for a new camera and I haven't seen pictures that good EVER! :cool1:

dinner at Kona is just as amazing as breakfast... it is definitly top 3 disney restaurants for me!!:worship:

What's your favorite thing for dinner? I really want to try it!

just found your review/report, cant wait to read and see more!

Welcome, glad to have you!

You definitely aren't the only one who doesn't like raspberry and chocolate together. I hate that combination in every form...

Glad I'm not the only one.

If you try it with the croissant, you won't be disappointed!

I have a Canon XSI, which I love, but it the lens that totally rocks. It's a 17-55mm (2.8). I don't think I used a flash in any of my pictures, which I think makes them look better.

Those chocolate desserts at FF look sublime :thumbsup2

Sorry you weren't that blown away by Kona Cafe - you've got me craving Tonga Toast now though ;)

I don't blame you for craving it, I am sure I will too!

Great reviews and I love the rating system!!!

Looking forward to your upcoming trips!popcorn::

Thanks, it's nice to have you!

mm tonga toast looks good.. i opted for the macademia nut pancakes when I went... and I sympathize on the liking crisp bacon and getting flimsy stuff.. just doesn't cut it!

How were the pancakes? I was torn between the tonga toast and the pancakes!

loving your reviews x[/QUOTE]

Thank you soooo much!

If you like fish, you really need to get the Red Snapper.

After a fabulous day at Magic Kingdom, I went over to Epcot to sneak in a ride on Test Track, and watch a little of the Davy Jones concert, before heading to my Dinner Reservation at

IMG_2046.jpg

I was a little early, but seated right about on time out back right by the edge of the patio. They had put up the canvas/plastic walls because it was very windy, which was good. But, then the problems started. I was seated at 7:30, my drink order wasn't taken until 7:45, and it wasn't brought until 8:00 p.m.

My appetizer came a few minutes later...
IMG_2049.jpg

I do love a cheese plate!

From the left, Mushroom Brie paired with onion jam, a sausage that I don't remember (and didn't each much of) paired with pickles and mustard, cheddar cheese, stilton blue cheese puff paired with candied walnuts. Buried under the puff was blood sausage, which I only had the nerve to smell...not eat.

I really did love this platter and the pairings were spot on!

Unfortunately, a few minutes later, before I was even half finished with the cheese platter, along comes this...

IMG_2053.jpg

Chicken Breast with Garlic Bread Pudding.

The chicken breast was very well prepared and flavored.
The garlic Bread pudding also tasted pretty good, but because it was quite cold out, and I was seated on the patio out back, it was cold by the time I ate it.

I ordered dessert, a special chocolate cake with the celebration theme. They turned on the heaters then, which was okay, and let people come out to watch illuminations. My cake came out right about the time that illuminations started...hence the devilish lighting

IMG_2054.jpg

There were a few people who came from inside that sat behind me and complained the whole time about the plastic windows and couldn't believe they didn't take the walls down, apparently not understanding that people would not want to eat in gale force winds. :scared1:

So, mirror, mirror on the wall, how was dinner at the park with the ball?
:mad::sad1::love: (out of 5 Smilies)

I would give the rose and crown three stars, all for the food. I really did like the food, but I was at the restaurant for nearly two hours! I will probably try Rose and Crown again one day, most likely for lunch since I do find that menu more appealing. (I also believe one bad server experience doesn't make a bad restaurant, and since the food was good, I will give it another shot one day!)

Amazing reviews!

DH and I love to have our arrival day lunch at Rose and Crown - great to start out the trip with a pint or three!

When I went to bed Saturday night, I decided I was going to skip Boma and the Animal Kingdom on Sunday. I was exhausted, my ankle was killing me (I had injured it not long before the trip), and had just popped a blister.

But I awoke on Sunday and realized I really only had one day left at the World. Plus Boma was the ADR I was most looking for on this trip, even though I am not a big buffet person.

I did end up taking a cab over to Animal Kingdom, as I was running to late to rely on busses.

IMG_2063.jpg

I waited for a few minutes and was seated and then headed over for my first plate.

IMG_2059.jpg

This is the "Savory" plate I created. In the back are the African inspired dishes, and a sausage link. In the front is the pre-made cheese omelet and a butter slathered piece of toast. It's vacation, its okay to slather!
I apparently only wrote down two of the African inspired dishes, one was curried sausage and biscuit casserole, which I didn't like. Just personal taste, nothing particularly wrong with it. The other was Pap and chaka laka. This was similar to grits maybe, with a red sauce. It was not something I would ever order, but it was simple and tasted good. The other dish I didn't right down? Looked similar to the casserole, but tasted better.

The Second Plate
IMG_2061.jpg

The "Sweet" plate. French toast, waffle, corn bread, chocolate Chip croissant and sticky bun. I really liked the waffle and the sticky bun. The chocolate chip croissant--meh.

Mirror, Mirror on the wall, was Boma better than the food court at the mall?
:):):) and 1/2 (out of 5)

First, let me say, I am generally not a fan of buffets. I like my food freshly prepared and hot. This is only the second buffet I have eaten at the World, the other being Cape May. Of the two, I preferred the food at Cape May and the atmosphere at Boma. But the food at Boma I would still consider pretty good for a buffet.

I do find buffets challenging to eat as a single diner. I am not super comfortable leaving my camera at the table but it's also a little challenging to get food at a buffet with it.

Oh, I did have a very good server as well.

One last pic...

ok so i love to eat but i love to eat the same things, therefore im not really adventurous when it comes to trying food. Anywho Kona dinner was our (me and soon to be DH) first ADR and night at the world and it lived up to every expectation. I got a wonderful drink but dont remember the name and cant find it on all ears. then we got sticky wings :worship: to die for. For entrees I got the coconut almond chicken and my fiancee got the shrimp and scallops! Then to top it off we got the chocolate fondu!! Every single thing we got was cooked to perfection! and the service was great!! thats why later in the trip we had to try breakfast as a pick up adr.

I would show pictures if i knew how to put them up... its funny we've been to disney the past 2 years and have taken pics of the food but i have not done a trip report!! well maybe this year!!

so in your terms i would give kona dinner
:love::love::love::love::love: smileys!!

Great review, figment. :thumbsup2

I'm glad you went to BOMA since it was your last ADR 'n the one you really wanted.
Hope your injury has since well healed. :goodvibes

Your reviews and pictures are wonderful! I am actually beginning to second guess some of the adr's that I need to make in a couple of weeks!!!

:rolleyes:Thanks for sharing!!!:thumbsup2

I am definitely stopping in for a pint on one of my future trips, I just wasn't in a beer mood that night!

Oh, that chicken sounds right up my alley, fondue too!

And this was my first stab at pictures, and it's super easy. I got a photobucket account just for this! (I generally use flickr)

Great review, figment. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the kind words, it's one of those things that I just keep reinjuring! But it feels good for now...Boma was my last ADR for the solo part of my trip, but I forgot to mention that I had another one for the business trip...and I had some surprise ADRs I made even after I ate at Boma!!!

Your reviews and pictures are wonderful! I am actually beginning to second guess some of the adr's that I need to make in a couple of weeks!!!

I think there aren't that many places you can go wrong....I really feel that every restaurant met or exceeded my expectations!

This is great! You really enjoyed yourself!

I sure did...and I get to go back in three weeks! Which is even more exciting as there is sleet hitting my window as I type!

So after Boma, I headed off to Animal Kingdom! I initially headed towards Everest, until I remember there was a single rider line there...so I got to Asia, but veered over to the Safari...there was a bit of line already, so I got my FP...and then started to think about lunch...and decided to see if I could get a last minute and I did at

yandyhead.jpg

YAK AND YETI!

I struggled over what to order I really wanted lettuce cups (the appetizer) and Honey Chicken (main). When I talked to the server, he told that the lettuce cups were huge and I might want to reconsider.

After much debate...I got

These were sublime! So glad I went this route.

I never just like to eat one thing at a meal, so I also got a side of...
IMG_2159.jpg

I think this looks much smaller than it was...It was a very nice size (cup-cup and a half).

I am so glad I got this last minute ADR...the food was great, and the service was good as well!

So, Mirror, what do you think? (I am rhymed out!)
;):);):) and 1/2

Great review... TFS... I can't wait to hear the rest. Flying Fish is one of my favorite meals.
