Hi Ho, Hi Ho, It's off to eat we go! 24 ADR's/7 Trips-THE TEA. Complete...for NOW

Thanks for the Artist Point review. I also love the arts and crafts style. I haven't, however, really seen anything on the menu I'm dying to have. And fruit for dessert??? :scared: (also sarcasm ;) ) So I think it will remain a little bit further down on my to-do list. Thanks so much for sharing! :)

The next morning was another early one! We were at DHS in time for park opening, and managed to do Tower of Terror, the Great Movie Ride, Toy Story Mania, Backlot tour, Muppets and Star Wars (just Doc, I ran to get a fast pass for Tower of Terror, since I cant do Star Wars.)

We made it to lunch right on time and were seated in pretty short order.

This is my second trip to the Derby, and mainly went because Doc wanted to go.

I selected BBQ Breast of Chicken - Served with Romaine hearts tossed in Green Goddess dressing and grilled flatbread. -

This was about perfect, though and I pretty much finished the whole thing.

One of my favorite desserts that I have had at Disney is at the Brown Derby, so of course I had to order it...but first my friends's dessert

IMG_2509.jpg

Flourless chocolate cake. Serious heaven.

And Mine

IMG_2508.jpg

Banana White Chocolate Toffee Tower - Served on a cocoa almond cookie and Bananas "Foster."

Bananas Foster and Flourless chocolate cake are my two favorite desserts in the world, so I love the Brown Derby for this simple fact.

How does the Brown Derby fair?
:);):);)

The I have had a lot of good food at the Brown Derby, but it just seems a tad expensive. I will definitely go again one day, even if it's just for the desserts. Good or bad, I still need to try Grapefruit Cake!

After Disney Hollywood Studios, we headed to Magic Kingdom, mainly to ride Splash Mountain, but managed to squeeze in a few other things too. (Magic Kingdom was our last day park and we didn't want to get soaked and then get on a plane!)

We rushed back to our room showered, and headed over to Downtown Disney in time for our reservation at Raglan Road. I have been trying to eat here since last October, but it hadn't worked out previously.

We were seated after about 10 minutes.

It took a while, and we didn't realize who it was at first, but a manager came over to take our drink order. Since we had been sitting a while we also gave him our food order.

First up came our drinks...we each ordered beer flights.

IMG_2512.jpg

In the background is the Around the world selection, and in the foreground is I believe the British Isles. i can't find an online menu that lists them, but it was fun to taste the different beers.

For my main course, I ordered Pie in the sky

IMG_2514.jpg

IMG_2517.jpg

Yeah, I pretty much ate it all. And it was good, really really good.

Then for dessert, and you know it's coming...I ordered...

IMG_2518.jpg

I do enjoy Bread Pudding, but I thought, how good can bread pudding REALLY be?

Let me tell you, I would sell my mother to eat this every night of my life, it was that good.

So now for the rating...
:):):):)

I really loved so much about Raglan Road, the atmosphere, the food, entertainment. The only thing stopping me from a 5th smilie, is that we saw our waiter twice. Once before the entrees showed up, and once to bring the check, I was not pleased, but I don't know if that is typical. I definitely would like to try RR for lunch in the future!!

Oh my, I do love that bread pudding and I'm not much on desserts. I know I should be banned from the DIS making a statement like that... Seriously we went to RR for the first time last November and LOVED it!:thumbsup2

I enjoy doing character breakfasts, even though I don't bring kids with me...It's become a must do for me...I started with Cape May as I thought it was more sedate...last week I ate at 'Ohana, and decided to go for the holy grail, Chef Mickey's for this trip.

We arrived by boat from Wilderness lodge...early as usual.

We waited for a while and were lead to our seats.

Quite a nice view I had!

For my first plate, I went savory...

IMG_2557.jpg

We've got from the top: tator tots, cheese omelette, cheesy potato/hashbrowns, sausage, biscuit and gravy and in the middle, breakfast pizza.

Overall, this was mediocre. I actually liked the pizza enough, that it will show up on my next plate. The biscuit and gravy was decent. The rest was not that great.

For my second plate, I went with sweet, and a little savory

IMG_2564.jpg

Of course we have a mickey waffle, pancake, french toast, another slice of pizza, some potatoes, and another piece of sausage.

Again, nothing special.

We did have some good character interaction though!

Overall, I was not especially impressed with Chef Mickey's I, don't think I'll be back anytime soon. I rather return to Cape May, 'Ohana, or try something new if I want a character breakfast. If I was traveling with kids, I might consider coming back again.

Overall, :):) 1/2 smiles is all I can muster.

I was excited and nervous to try Chefs, because I had read several not so great reviews. We arrived right on time and were seated within about 10 minutes.

We were seated in a table that was pushed up against a column, and if I put on 5 pounds, we would not be able to sit there. Once I squeezed in I was stuck for the evening.

We started of course with a cheese plate...
IMG_2577.jpg

They did not give us a description card, so I am not sure what any of them are! There was a goat cheese, brie, a swiss type cheese, and then the best one that I'm not sure what it was!

We also both wanted to try the french onion soup, so we also split that.

IMG_2578.jpg

The soup was okay, but definitely needed some salt...and didn't really have any onions! That actually is a bonus for me, but Doc was disappointed.

To continue the dairy parade, I had to try the Mac and Cheese known in France as Gratin de macaroni - Baked macaroni with cream and gruyere cheese.

IMG_2580.jpg

This was good, pretty much as expected, and was just probably a poor choice for me based on everything else we were having. I think I would have liked it more if I hadn't already had a massive amount of cheese!

Seeing as I had already taken the dairy train this far, I figured I might as well take it all the way and ordered the Creme Brule for dessert

IMG_2583.jpg

I actually quite liked this.

Overall, Chefs was right about what I expected. We did have a pretty good server, and I actually kind of liked the bustling atmosphere. The food was about on par with what I have had at other restaurants at Epcot.

I would rate Chefs ...:):):)

We ended up canceling our WCC breakfast reservation so we could make it to rope drop on our day at MK...there was the benefit that I could try the CS restaurant and sandwich I had been salivating for months....

Columbia Harbor House, we were the second people in line because we went right at 10:30 a.m.

IMG_2608.jpg

Lighthouse Sandwich - hummus with tomato & broccoli slaw

It was everything I dreamed of! Something was off with the soda...but I definitely would go back here again!

Saving the best for last...

Doc and I were very excited to be going to our Tea at the Grand Floridian...We even got there about 45 minutes early!

We were seated relatively quickly and were led to our table. Our server noticed my black (casual) skirt and asked if I wanted a black napkin instead of a white one.

Of course, and boy did I feel Fancy! :rotfl:

We decided to both go with the grand tea...which starts with...

IMG_2624.jpg

I went with the Gardenview Signature tea which was wonderful...and I am not really a tea drinker.

IMG_2621.jpg

okay, its just a cup, but I drank plenty of tea!

After we had a little time with our champagne and tea, our server brought our sandwiches.

IMG_2626.jpg

The sandwich selections were chicken salad, tuna salad, cucumber, pear and gorgonzola, and egg salad. I don't eat tuna, so I actually have two chickens. All of these were wonderful, but I particularly like the the chicken and egg.

The next course was

IMG_2627.jpg

Scones, with real Devonshire imported from where ever devonshire cream comes from...england?

And a fruit tart. I would have paid 5 bucks for the mini jam jar. Everything is better when it's mini.

Finally for dessert we were given the option of Trifle, strawberries and cream, or pastries...we both went for the pastries.

I got

IMG_2630.jpg

If you've read my reviews, you probably realize I don't like fruit in my desserts...But I couldn't resist the swan, and you know what, it WAS good! The other is a Tiramisu dessert. Doc, got that one too, plus an eclair.

IMG_2631.jpg

What an amazing experience this was! It was a perfect relaxing end to our trip, I can't wait to go back one day...in fact I'm considering a September trip, just so I can go for the tea! It may not be for everyone...but I thought it was wonderful and so very filling! I expected to be hungry a couple of hours later, but it was definitely a meal!
:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc

Thanks so much for your reviews. Everything just looks SO yummy! Glad you enjoyed Chefs for dinner. I went for lunch and loved it. Now will have to try dinner! The Lighthouse sandwich looks quite lovely. And the tea... :cloud9: I've actually resisted doing this as I am not a big tea drinker but I think your pics and description have pushed me over the edge! :upsidedow
