Hi Ho, Hi Ho, It's off to eat we go! 24 ADR's/7 Trips-THE TEA. Complete...for NOW

Thanks for the first lot of reviews. Even though you weren't that huge a fan of Boma, I'm still very much looking forward to trying it :)

And you should! 3 1/2 smilies is still pretty good! I might prefer a sit down meal, but if someone in one of my groups wanted a buffet i would go back to Boma in a heartbeat. Plus any reason to go to the Animal Kingdom lodge is worth it!

So after one of my business meetings, a few colleagues and I headed over to THE WAVE.

On a previous trip, DBF and I stuck our head in and I was really impressed by the "look" and the menu. (Actually on a trip just about a year ago, we ate at the Concourse Steakhouse they were testing some of the Wave Desserts, and I got to try some of them there!)

On to the trip report...

I had seen pictures of the lettuce wraps on other posts, and decided to continue my branching out...

Lettuce Wraps - Sauteed lamb and bay scallops with soy-rice wine vinegar sauce.

These were quite good, but I think next time I will try something else. (I was so blown away by the Y and Y lettuce cups, that to me, these didn't reach the level I wanted them too!)

I debated between pork and beef for my main, and ended up with this

Grilled Beef Tenderloin - with mashed celery root. This is not exactly what is showing on the menus on I am finding on various websites. I was leery of the mashed celery root, but OH MY! If i didn't want dessert so badly, I would have ordered a second helping. Great texture and flavor. The steak was done very well too, I really thought it was great!

On too dessert...I had seen other people on the boards had been able to mix and match, so we asked if we could. Unfortunately, our waitress told us that due to an unexpected high crowd level, they didn't have enough desserts to allow for that.

I went with...

Decadent Flavors - Blueberry Compote with Yogurt Gelato, Lemon Cornbread with Vanilla Panna Cotta, or Chocolate Mousse with Salted Caramel Sauce

YUM! I actually liked the Chocolate mousse the best, salty and sweet combos are my favorite. I also really liked the cornbread (though I expected a little more panna cotta than the tiny dollop on top!) :)

While I liked the compote, I'd probably substitute another dessert for this one if I could in the future.

Mirror, Mirror on the wall, was it a wave or was it a squall?
:):lovestruc:):lovestruc and a half

I think the Wave is a great restaurant with great food for a nice night out, if you don't want to get dressed up for a signature.

Hope to eat here again soon!

wow, everything looked so tasty!! I'm trying the wave this year in july but im still not sure whether to do breakfast or dinner?:confused3

That beef tenderloin looks good, you took some good pics. ::yes::

I'm gonna put The Wave on my list for Sep.

We went to the Wave last month and loved every bit of it! Glad you did too!

I am loving your reviews!

I have read so many great reviews of the Wave that it is on my 'must try' list for our next trip!

So I had one last night and decided to have one more meal in the World. I wanted to walk around the Boardwalk, but decided to start a Captains Grille!

My friend and I decided to split to things. She ordered an appetizer and I ordered a main course. Unfortunately, we were starving and started to dig in before i could take pics! So I apologize in advance for the state of the our plates!!!

She had

Warm Wild Mushrooms & Onion Tart Served with field green and barley salad and balsamic truffle vinaigrette. -

I really liked this alot, but it wasn't terribly filling. On the spoon in the corner was the oyster from her appetizer trio. The breading was good, but I'm not a big oyster person.

On my plate, in addition to the oyster was

This was a beef bruschetta. It had a very good flavor, but you must be okay with rare meat!

The third item on the plate was an onion tart which was done in a similar fashion as the mushroom tart. It was decent but I preferred the mushroom tart.

Since we were heading to the boardwalk we decided to forgo dessert.

The Captain's Grille Rating:
:):):)

I liked the Captain's Grille, the food was tasty and well prepared. I will go back again one day, but there a lot of other places I planning on trying first. The service was quite good as well.

This is the last review of this trip...good thing I will be going back twice in the next three weeks!

I don't think you'll be disappointed with dinner!

That beef tenderloin looks good, you took some good pics. ::yes::

I'm gonna put The Wave on my list for Sep.

It may end up back on my list for October! I hope you love it Uncle Remus!

We went to the Wave last month and loved every bit of it! Glad you did too!

Your review was one of the reasons it made it to my list!

Great report keep the pictures coming Thank you

Thanks, I appreciate it!

I hope you get a chance to go! I'm just hoping it doesn't get too popular so we can get ressies again!

Great report so far :)

Thanks!:)

Wow great reviews! I can't wait to try The Wave and now I'm thinking about branching out and trying Flying Fish.

I'm typically a lurker in these sorts of threads, but I just had to pop in and tell you that your reviews are amazing!!!

Great pictures, detailed reviews and entertaining writing - two great bigs thumbs up from me! I can't wait to read more. Thanks for sharing.

DBF and I headed down to Orlando to 48 hours, basically to see if we could, an d survive! I tried for weeks to get a reservation at 'Ohana and finally did!

We arrive about 30 minutes early , and were seated after about 15 minutes. (No complaints, we just woke up earlier than expected and went to see what would happen). We were lead to a table right by the window...I am kicking myself for not taking a picture of the view!

On the way to our table the hostess picked up our bread...

IMG_2187.jpg

I nibbled on it, because I knew a lot more food was coming

Next our server brought the fruit

Perfect! Fresh, chilled, delish!

Then finally...

Wow! I was really impressed with the eggs...I am picky about my eggs and these were great. DBF ate most of the bacon, and then some. The potatoes were good, and the sausage was excellent. We also had a couple of healthy servings of mickey waffles, but I forgot pics!

When we were done, this is what was left...

So, I guess we liked it! Or loved it.....

Seriously I really loved this breakfast. Out of the four table service breakfasts I have had, this is by far my favorite. (Cape May and Boma are both very good, not overly impressed with Spoodles!)

The character interaction was awesome. I was so happy to meet all of them, and they were great with adults! i enjoyed the parade as well.

So, Mirror, Mirror on the wall, is this the best breakfast of them all?

Absolutely!

Premium Mickey Bar—I miss the one with the face and the dipped ears from my childhood.

I am sooooooooo with you on this!!! The ice cream even tasted better!:worship: I have a feeling they switched because it was cheaper to make the ones they serve now:confused3

Anyhow...am loving your reviews! Keep em coming!
