Hello all! I'm pretty new here on the DISBoards but I've been "lurking" for the last several months and I've enjoyed reading so many PTR's and TR's that I decided I should go ahead and make my own. Even if nobody reads it, at least it'll be there for me to look back on
Please bear with me as I try and get used to posting. If you have any advice along the way, or tips, suggestions, critcism?, whatever it may be, I'd love to hear it! I'm going to try to create chapters to make this easier to read, but we'll see how DISBoard literate I can be
This will be my family's 2nd Disney trip and I'm so excited! So I guess first things first, introductions and Favorites! (Which will be pictureless for the time being since I haven't posted enough
)
First off, ME!
My name is Amanda, or Manduh as most people have called me for years. I'm 25 years old and married to an amazing man who I have two handsome little boys with (plus one more on the way!). I work in insurance sales which I have been doing for a little over 2 years. It gets stressful at times but I enjoy my job and all the people I work with so it makes it bearable. I'm currently expecting our 3rd, and final, bundle of boy joy and I'm due on June 4th. He'll be making his arrival early though due to some complications I've been having.
Favorite Park: Magic Kingdom! What else?
Favorite Ride: Splash Mountain
Favorite Disney Movie: This is a tough one. I grew up watching all the classics and loved them all. But I'd probably have to go with Lion King.
Favorite Disney Food: ALL OF IT!
Favorite Nighttime Show: Wishes<3 There's nothing like standing there at the castle, listening to the music, and seeing the most beautiful fireworks shooting off at the most perfect backdrop.
Favorite Disney Character: Tinkerbell!! (if you couldn't tell from my screenname)
Next is DH. His name is Kyle, but goes by KB (His family called him Kylebug when he was younger..cute right?). He's 25 as well and works as a part supply associate for a large car company. He's not a disney fanatic like I am and thinks I'm weird and obsessed for taking two years to plan a one week trip, but he does enjoy it while we're there. I'm going to have to guess at his favorite's because he won't tell me. He likes "them all".
Favorite Park: I'll just say Magic Kingdom.
Favorite Ride: He has a huge issue with heights and motion sickness so he usually sticks to the kids rides. But he did seem to love Test Track.
Favorite Disney Movie: None of them. He's not a movie person. Unless it's action. Typical male.
Favorite Disney Food: Any of it.
Favorite Nighttime Show: We didn't get to see Fantasmic when we went in December 2012 but I think this would be his favorite once he sees it.
Favorite Disney Character: Ariel. He's always had a thing for her since he was a toddler *insert awwwww's here*
Then there's DS7. His name is Landyn and is becoming a Disney Freak like mama. He loves any and all things Disney and has now started doing chores for "Disney Dollars".
Favorite Park: Magic Kingdom.
Favorite Ride: Test Track and Toy Story Mania.
Favorite Disney Movie: Cars, Toy Story, Wall E.
Favorite Disney Food: Mickey Ice Cream.
Favorite Nighttime Show: The only one we got to see last time was Wishes, so we'll go with that.
Favorite Disney Character: Stitch.
Next, is DS4 whose name is Bentley. We didn't have to pay for him at all last time we went and now we're seeing how much of a huge difference it makes. But he's my little Disney buddy as well. I'm excited that he's tall enough to do all the "big kid" rides when we go, so is he.
Favorite Park: Magic Kingdom. See a trend going?
Favorite Ride: Dumbo.
Favorite Disney Movie: He's not really into the movies but loves watching Disney JR.
Favorite Disney Food: Chicken tenders. That's all he eats. Anywhere.
Favorite Nighttime Show: He loves fireworks, so once again Wishes.
Favorite Disney Character: He's loved Mickey since he was 2 and he's still a huge favorite. He also has a huge obsession with Doc McStuffins.
Of course, we'll have DSBaby as well who will be around 6 months old when we go. If any of you have tips on touring WDW with an infant they would be greatly appreciated!
We're also going to be going with husband's parents:
First up is DMiL. She's more like a mom to me than an "in-law". She wanted nothing to do with Disney before our last trip but just went along for the ride because her grandbabies were going. However, I am proud to say, she is now slowly but surely becoming a Disney fanantic. I will catch her researching different things Disney and offering suggestions along the way as well. Woohoo!
Favorite Park: Epcot.
Favorite Ride: Tower of Terror.
Favorite Disney Movie: Lady and the Tramp.
Favorite Disney Food: Anything at Epcot.
Favorite Nighttime Show: I think she'll love Illuminations.
Favorite Disney Character: Eeyore.
Last but not least is DFiL. Since my dad passed away, he's really made me feel like I still have a dad, even if it may not be the one I've known all my life. (I have an amazing family don't I?).
Favorite Park: Animal Kingdom.
Favorite Ride: He's not really a ride person. But he loved riding Dumbo with DS4.
Favorite Disney Movie: I don't really know.
Favorite Disney Food: Mickey pretzel.
Favorite Nighttime Show: His favorite will probably be Fantasmic.
Favorite Disney Character: Grumpy (it suits him well
)
Well, this post is a lot longer than I anticipated so hopefully I haven't bored you too much. Next up will be Dates and temporary Itinerary!.
