I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm Sue, 27 and I'm going to Orlando for 3 weeks with my parents in November 08.
I just need to work out how my dad and I are going to spend 3 weeks together without killing each other.
The two main reasons why I was invited to go with them (in my opinion) are the fact that I work in the travel industry so have access to some perks etc. and it means my dad can get me to pay for a third of everything (he is a bit tight, although selectively so).

We have been twice before in '92 and '97. This is my first time as an adult and I want to see how different the experience is.

We are doing Disney, Universal and the rest. I am also booked in at Discovery Cove, I LOVE Dolphins  and I have wanted to swim with them for years, this is the first opportunity I have had. I can't wait!

Hi! My husband signed up for this post & I usually do most of the responding:goodvibes
I'm sure as long as you like Disney- you will have a great time with your family.
I haven't been to universal in probably 7 years. Disney is by far our favorite!!
We did do Sea World too-love that but with what Disney has to offer as far as Magical Express & the buses from 1 pt to another-really has been no need for us to rent a car. We stay on Disney property & are very happy. (Last time we rented a car-it stayed in the parking lot the whole time!)
I'm sure you'll get all your questions answered on these boards. I think it's quite helpful and sometimes just fun:flower3:
Have a great trip-I think alot of fun is the planning itself;)

Well Sue, remember this. My dad died when I was 14 (lung cancer). It's 40 years later, and I would kill to be able to spend 1 day with him in Disney. Your dad won't be around forever, unfortunately, so cherish the time you have with him. I need to follow my own advice regarding my teenager at times. As we all know, they can be quite trying at times. If worst comes to worst, grin and bear it ! Good luck and have a great trip ! :thumbsup2

Hi:wave:
Welcome to the board. I hope everything goes great with your trip and all of you have a wonderful time. :earboy2:

Hello@

Hi and welcome to the DIS:thumbsup2

My advice..... well we took my MIL with us a few years back so we know the adult with parent trip thing. Enjoy your time together BUT.......Make sure you do something on your own. even if it is just a day hanging at the pool or maybe the day at Discovery Cove or something. A day to recharge your battery. we didn't do this and in Hindsight we wish we had
In 2010 My Parents will be coming with us and I already have things planned seperate from them for a day maybe two.....

Enjoy your trip:)

I live alone and I'm too used to my "me time". I enjoy spending time with them but I usually try for smaller doses.
I will be at Discovery Cove by myself and I'm sure we will split up for part of the time at the parks especially if we are returning for a second time. I think I just have to not let him get to me!
At least this time I should have some say in the matter as to where we go, where we eat etc. I think me and my mum might have to try ganging up on him, if he gets particularly annoying.
