Hi Guys
We got back at 5.30am this morning, had a little sleep and just thought I would pop on and let you know what a wonderful time we had.
This was our 4th visit to the world and it just gets better every time. This trip was more laid back than any other we had done with only 1 or 2 ps's booked and everything else done as and when we felt like it.
We stayed at the pop which was wonderful, we had a fantastic room, the location was wonderful, it was building 1 in the 50's block, just a 2 min walk from the food court and bus stop. My only criticisim of the Pop is that it is enormous and the wait for the buses was the worse we had encountered. Most days it was impossible to get on the first bus that came and 50% of the time we would have to wait another 15-20 mins for another bus, nothing major but there is not enough buses to service the amount of people the hotel has to cope with. If you left the park after closing, it was worse, which I am sure is the case with most of the resorts, but the pop bus stops seemed to have 3 times the amount of people waiting as any of the others. After Wishes one night we queued for well over an hour and a half and managed to get the 8th bus back to the resort. That said, we really enjoyed the Pop, it is very pleasing on the eye, with wonderful large Icons. We did walk over to the 90's block and I would guess it would take a 5-10 min stroll to get to the food courts if you walked through the resort, but if you nipped through the car parks you could easily cut that time in half. The cast members were wonderful, and there is everything you need in the room, including Iron, Ironing Board and Hairdryer.
The parks were a breeze, the crowds were fairly light, we expected large crowds due to the free Disney Dining plan, but I can honestly say that the longest we waited for any ride was 20 mins tops, most were a walk on. We took full advantage of the extra magic hours in the morning and the evening, and we thought it was fantastic,we found the parks very accessable at these times, the only exception to this was Magic Kingdom at one of the extra magic hours in the evening, it was packed, apart from that, I would fully reccomend trying the extra hours programme.
The weather as expected was hot, hot, hot and humid, but to ease this we would get up early and go to the parks, leave just after lunch to go back to the hotel and then go back in the evening, it seemed to be hottest to us between 2-5 oclock. We had a couple of thunderstorms, nothing major, and a bit of rain, which I think was the outskirts of Katrina coming over.
We had the most fantastic time, we met people from the cruise boards who we are sailing with next year, and met up with Karen and Family(miffy2003) on quite a few occasions, thank you guys, you made our holiday extra special.
Both Karen and I did turn up for the Dismeet at Epcot but unfortunatley must have missed the others, not quite sure what happened, we were sat outside in the garden, I hope we were there the correct day??
It was a holiday full of highs and very little lows, infact I give it 10/10. Cant wait to go back again next year. I will do a full trip report in the coming days as soon as I have downloaded all of our pics, and I have listed some of the highs below. If you have any questions about the Pop or the parks, or anything at all, feel free and I will try to answer them as soon as I can.
Its great to be back talking to you all,but I wish I was still there lol.
Highs:
Meeting all our newly made friends.
The location of our room at Pop.
Soarin-(after first feeling a little nervous to do it because of the height)
Turtle Talk with Crush at Living Seas(The funniest thing I have ever seen at Disney, unfortunatley now closed due to refurb for 3 months).
Riding up front with the driver on the Monorail.
Vicki being asked to escort Eeyore into Toontown Disney at the rope drop.
Vicki having balloons and a card delivered to our hotel room for her birthday from Donald Duck.
Wishes(the first time we have seen it and it brought a tear to my eye)
Tinkerbell flying right over our heads and capturing it on camcoder at Wishes.
Stars in thier Motorcar Parade at MGM.
Hiring a surrey bike at the boardwalk(and having to ask two guys to push us up the hills lol).
Just being there.
I am sure there is much more, but the brain is still on Disney time and a little confused right now.
No real lows, with the exception of the buses at Pop, but we worked around that by leaving as early as we could in the morning.
Feel free to ask any questions, speak soon.
Sue
