I am new here and wanted to say hi to everyone. I have 3 kids, ages 10, 7, and 4 who really want to get to Disney again. The older two have been, but barely remember it. My youngest is finally getting to an age where I will start to think about it.
Costs are a bit prohibitive at the moment. But, we keep dreaming.

One quick money-saving tip: join AAA. It can save you from 10-15% from the price of your accomodations. Go during Value Season (for us, that means summer) and save more.

In fact, if you can swing the end of August (this year, that means on or after August 24th) you can save some serious money if they offer free dining. For your family, that would be a much better deal than AAA.

Also, if you're thinking affordable accomodations for a family of 5, take a look at:
-The family suites at All Star Music. Disney combined 2 rooms into a suite, so there are 2 bathrooms and a kitchenette

-The trundle rooms at Port Orleans Riverside (POR) That trundle bed can accomodate a 5th person under 5' tall.

I am also from Western NC - near Asheville.

We are going on the double dip cruise in September with our DS - age 4. It will all of our first Disney Cruise but our 5th total cruise and his 4th.

Vacations to Go and CruiseVacationOutlet.com have great prices. We were able to get an onboard credit. Not sure if you were thinking cruise but everything (except alcohol and shore excursions) is included and you don't have to strap the kids in and out of the car all day when you travel.
