I am 25 years old, and will be 26 this November. I live in the mountains of North Carolina, where I just completed my first year teaching kindergarten.
I haven't been on a vacation in 7 years, since I began undergraduate work in college. Since, I have graduated, and I am working on my Masters in TESOL while working full time. So, I decided it was high time for a vacation.
My favorite memories are of my mom's family (my grandparents, their four children and spouses, and the 12-15 cousins) trekking to Disney every other year. I've been about 7 times in my life. So, to celebrate my birthday this year, I am taking my dad and his new fiance with me.
This is a big year for me. In 2008, I was in a bad accident. I broke a bunch of bones, including both hips, and I spent almost a year in a wheelchair and on a walker. I finally am able to get around without too much pain (except in winter), and I want to celebrate that accomplishment. My dad and his girlfriend helped me through some pretty tough spots, and I want to thank them.
So, this year, we will be in Disney from November 20-27. We will probably stay at French Quarter (we always used to stay at the Contemporary, and I am a bit bummed it's too expensive this time). It's his girlfriend's first time, so I am really excited to show her around the world!
