I'm just here to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for the prayers and good wishes. I took every one of them into surgery yesterday knowing that I had all of you behind me.

Everything went the way it was supoosed to go. I had a lot done in one day. I had my retina reattached, I had a vitrectomy and I had laser surgery. The surgery took about 3 hours. That was the easy part.....i was asleep.

The recovery howvere, might drive me insane. I am supposed to lay flat on my stomach for ywo weeks. When I do get up, I am supposed to plant my chin im my chest.

The reason for this is that they put a gas bubble in my eye which holds the retina to the back of the eye and allows it to heal.

The hard part is that I am just not built to lay flat on my stomach. I can do it.....but then I dont breathe well. I have managed to find a suitable position, but it;s sort of fetal with a double gainer.

You probably wont see me very often for a while....but please know that I am so thankful and lucky to have all of you watching over me.

Your friend,
Kevin

sorry for any typos....I'm doing this with one eye. :)

Hi Kevin!!! :wave2:

So glad to hear you are doing well!!!! Take as much time, get all the rest you need and know we are all thinking of you! :grouphug:

Its great to hear from you Kevin - you have a lot of positive thoughts with you yesterday :goodvibes

Hope your recovery is pain free and you dont get too bored staying still

Big :grouphug: for you and John

So glad everything went as planned!

That sounds like a very uncomfortable way to spend 2 weeks. Get a massage whilst you're there.

I'm so happy to hear you are getting better :goodvibes
Remember to take it easy!

 Kevin!!!!

I'm so so so so glad to hear that the surgery went well, you've been in my prayers daily and nightly since I heard.

Take your time healing and getting better....we will miss you being around but we can wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

pixiedust: your way!

Or, do what I used to do...

Go to the beach.

Dig holes in the sand to mold to your body.

Lie face down.

Have John rub lotion on your back.

Doesn't it feel more like a vacation now?

Okay, I didn't have John there to rub lotion on my back...but concept is the same.

Thanks for letting us know you are OK. Please get better so we can watch more rousing and educational discussions about wheelchairs and ADR rumors (but not until you are ready!!!!).

Well, my eyes can't type at all so you are doing better than me!

lol Thank you thank you, I'll be here all week.

I hope your recovering goes by fast!

Two weeks like that? Sounds nearly impossible. As someone who was on strict bedrest for 5 weeks, the only thing that might keep you sane is some books on tape for your Ipod. Hang in there! pixiedust:

Kevin, glad to hear that you are doing well. It won't be long before you are up and around again. Take care of yourself.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Jennifer

Oh gosh, Kevin, I'm sure it will be a long two weeks. We will all be thinking of you.

Get well soon Kevin!!!!

Take as much time as you need to heal!! We totally understand!!

I'll be thinking about you every day!!

Kevin

It's so wonderul and relieving to see you post again. You have been such a dear friend to so many of us on the boards; so much so we missed your presence in chat last night. It wasn't the same without you or John. Rest assured though Tracy and Teresa kept us in line. :)

For now we wish you a safe and speedy recovery. We can't wait for you to get back on the boards and the show on a regular basis. Thanks for being a Disney Geek and coming into our lives.

P.S. Please don't cry reading our comments. I can't imagine that would be good. :)

Oh Kevin - it was so good to hear from you personally.

You have been in all our thoughts & prayers all week long.

I hope your recovery goes well. I think you need to have back massages all the while that you are awake - that little head/face pillow will be perfect.
Then for sleeping - you could get one of those donut pillows that people get for "other" ailments and use that to rest your weary head.

All kidding aside, please hurry and get well soon - you are missed more than you'll ever know :flower3:

Glad to hear from you Kevin....Glad you're on the mend.:grouphug:
