As the title says - Hi everyone!
We (my hubbie, 2yr old son, my sister and her boyfriend) are going to DLP on 17th Jan. We got it on the sun deal so we are only going for one night staying at the hotel Cheyenne (sp?) and traveling via eurostar. We have all (apart from my son and my sisters boyfriend) been to DisneyWorld but never been to DLP so very very excited!!!
I was just wondering if anyone had any tips for us, as we want to make sure our son gets to do as much as possible in the one day that we are in the parks. Are there lots of rides that a 2year old can go on? Are there things we should defo not miss out on? Are there things that we should not bother with/avoid?
Any advice/tips would be greatfully received. I have allready had a look on the board and found the posts to be of great help. So thank you everyone that posts!
Thank you
Sammie

Hi Sammie

Number one tip would be to bring the buggy!!

The rides/attractions I'd recommend for your son are....
Its a small world, Lancelots Carosel, Dumbo, Peter Pan, Woodys Round up and Pirates of the Carribean if he wouldnt be afraid of the dark in the Disneyland Park.

In studios i would recommend.... Cars, Flying Carpets, Stitch live (a must do!), Playhouse Disney, Anamagique, Cinemagique and myabe Slinky Dog in Toy Story Playland.

Hope this helps and that you have a great trip :goodvibes:goodvibes

Thank you! Buggy is defo top of my list, I am taking my parents spare one rather than our expensive one though!
I am sooooooo excited, cant wait to see Chester's face when we get there! He is not afraid of anything atm so will defo take him on pirate of carribean. I have listed all of those rides into my 'disneyland note book' so thank you very much for that

Are you staying at the Cheyenne the night before your day trip or after? If before make sure you get the earliest breakfst slot and be in the park for EMH at 8.00 (It is on that day) Then you will be able to do all the rides in Fantasyland before the park is open to day guests.
Maybe try a character lunch at "Lucky Nugget" so that you get to see the characters without having to queue. Have fun:cheer2:

I definitely agree with micksn! Make sure to get a nutritious breakfast, *** the food at the park is not always that great and you'll end up eating junk!

Yeah we are staying at hotel the night before we hit the parks. Excellent so we can get in the park early that day?
Thank you for your replies, they are helping loads. I am one of these people that needs to be super organised and know whats going on! I think I have OCD in planning!! :rotfl:

Id definately try to squeeze in a character meal aswel. We love Cafe Mickey but Buffalo Bills Will West Show is free for Chester if you would fancy that!
Its a show, meal, beer for the grown ups and you get a free cowboy hat!! :thumbsup2

Buffets are also good as theres always something to suit everyone. The one in the Cheyenne is really very good. Dessert table is sooooooooo yummy! Chester eats free at buffet restaurants :thumbsup2

Dont leave any valuables in the buggy. Most people wouldnt even look in your buggys direction but someone was very unlucky and had valuables and buggy stolen recently.

at check in you could ask for breakfast in the park - good morning fantasyland - which is free and the same fare as you get in the hotels for breakfast but you have the advantage of eating and getting straight onto the selected open rides - most of which are geared towards smaller children

Thank you Kizzabel, I am now gonna check out the buffet now, I hadnt thought of having dinner at the hotel we were just thinking of going to disney village but this had given us another option!
I would like to do a character meal but its just the cost of them, I will look into the buffalo bills one as well.
I will defo be asking for breakfast in the park then! Sounds great!

My son is 3 and his favorites were:

Buzz Lightyear ride, stitch live, small world, peter pan, cars, animagique, slinky dog. He loved having dinner at Cafe Mickeys and we really enjoyed it as well, found he got bored really easy at buffet meals, once he was finished eating and I didn't think cafe Mickey was anymore expensive than the buffet options. He also enjoyed Buffalo Bill show.

Definately take a buggy.

Hope you have a great time.

I have looked at the buffet restaurant in Cheyenne and it seems to be good value for disney at roughly 21 euros each. the menu looks good,, something for everyone.
Can I ask roughly how much you will think it will cost for chef mickeys (just for 2 adults and a 2year old, my sister and boyf can pay for themselves lol) and also do you think it is best to go there at lunch or dinner?

Also are the rides at DLP height restricted? Or age restricted? I only ask this because Chester is only 86cms tall atm! I dont want him to miss out!

He is such a dare devil he would probably go on spacemountain if he was allowed:rotfl:

but seriously I would love for him to go on slinky dog but am worried that he might be to short if it is height restricted?

We ate at Cafe Mickey for the first time this time and it was fab. We ate at 12.00 and it was almost empty, although it filled up quickly, but it was great to get to meet several characters and spend plenty of time with them. You don't have to have the set menu. I had pizza which was 14 euro, so by Disney standards it can be reasonable. I think the total bill was less than 60 euro - DH had 3 course set menu, ds had kids meal, and I had pizza, plus a drink each.

If you can get breakfast in the park I'd do it, but if you can only get second sitting ignore the food and make the most of the time in the park (take something with you from home or grab something from the station) then do Cafe Mickey for lunch.

Have a great time!
