I had a wonderful time although at times I wished there was someone there to share it all with. When I first arrived I thought the crowds were light but last weekend was busy and this week seemed busier probably as the US heads into their Columbus Day weekend. I noticed there were lots of younger kids there. I don't think I waited any more than 30 minutes for a couple of the more popular rides though (TOT and Peter Pan) because the FP machines were sold out.

I did the Keys to the Kingdom tour which was a very informative 5 hours behind the scenes look at Magic Kingdom. It included lunch at Columbia Harbour House, which I had never been in before and is a nice cool stop to remember for counter service for future trips and a gorgeous pin shaped like a key. I also went to Spirit of Aloha which was pretty good although it's true what they say about the first part of the show being a bit weak. I could hardly make a dent in all the food and I joked with my server that I hoped he didn't expect me to eat it all!

The MNSSHP was a lot of fun and the MK looked great with all the special lighting. The Headless Horseman was amazing as he galloped up Main Street on a big black horse. Instead of Tinkerbell, a witch all lit up with little green lights flew from the Castle which was very neat! I met up with MaMudduck and her SIL and another Diser, Cthia from Massachusetts, for a while. We all had dinner at Cosmic Ray's together.

I rode Mission:SPACE 3 times and loved it! I suffered no ill effects other than trembling after my first time due to nerves. I thought it is an amazing experience! I did not eat anything before going on or waited at least a couple of hours. The first 2 times I took one Dramamine an hour before going on but didn't need them and they made me sleepy anyway, so didn't for the 3rd time. During the more intense parts of the ride I concentrated on my breathing and the beautiful scenes before me on the screen. I was going to go back to EPCOT for a 4th time on my last day but after visiting AK one last time, then hopping over to MK to say goodbye, decided on having a scrumptious gourmet dinner and dessert at Kona Café instead, complete with a yummy "Island Paradise" drink in the lounge beforehand and then headed over to MGM for FANTASMIC for the perfect end to my vacation.

Mickey's PhilharMagic is VERY cute and the 3D effects are excellent!

I'll write a more thorough trip report when I get organized here at home. The boys and dh survived without me for a week and the house is pretty tidy but needs a good cleaning, there is a ton of laundry waiting for me (including mine) and the cupboards and freezer are pretty bare.

It sounds like you had a great time.
Is this the first time you went to disney alone?
I would love to go next year during Hallowween I didnt know that anything was even going on there at that time off the year until I started to read the posts here.
You were one of the first to answer my post, when I had wrote about having a argument with my friends over disney.
Now if only they could come up with a singles dating club for Disney Lovers!
Welcome back

Welcome Back! Columbia Harbour House is a 'must do" every time we go to WDW! When we were there in Feb, we were upstairs and noticed a roped off area where the guests were being treated fabulously. I asked a CM what was going on and she said it was part of a tour -- now I know which one !

Are you coming to the DisMeet in London in Nov? If so, be sure to bring all of your pictures!

Welcome back Julie! Looks like you had an awesome time :) The Keys to the Kingdom tour sounds very interesting ... I'll have to put it on my to do list :p

I can't wait to hear more about your trip! Are you going to post any pictures?

Thankyou for the welcome back everyone! :) I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things here at home and I'm already thinking back to the life of luxury I had at Disney! ;)

Elismom, yes this was my first solo trip to Disney. I did spend a couple of days on my own last year before dh joined me, so it took a bit of getting used to being on my own the whole trip. I found myself splurging on a few spur of the moment things which was kind of nice. I enjoyed being on my own time schedule too.

Cass, I don't think I'll be taking the bus to Florida again any time soon, lol. I flew down and back on Southwest Airlines.

Thank you for the "official" welcome back, Susan! ;)

Kim, there has been talk about another March Break trip. ;) Dh says I could fly down a few days early and he'll drive down and meet up with me for the week and we'll drive back together. I guess we'll see how things look in the new year.

Vicky, things were pointed out on the tour that I would have otherwise missed or never given any thought to that they might mean something. The only thing I was disappointed in is that the tour no longer goes into the actual costume department due to security after 911.

Looking forward to seeing many of you at the London meet!

Welcome home Julie! It does sound like you had a great trip!

Len and I are going to be in your neck of the woods the end of the week. He has a conference at your new community centre on Friday, so we're going down Thursday night and staying with our friends that live there and then coming home on Saturday.

Sounds like you had a good trip also Julie. How did you like MNSSHP? Would you fly Southwest again or do you prefer Toronto?

Hi Hockeymom, I thought MNSSHP was fun! I didn't get dressed up but I saw several really good adult costumes and of course the kids looked cute. Lots and lots of princesses. The Headless Horseman was a terrific start to the parade.

We flew down in August on our mini-trip so I already had a taste of SWA and it was just as easy this time for my flight both ways. Whereas in August we got "wanded" and our carry-ons hand checked, this time I just walked through the x-ray and gathered my bag after it had gone through and that was it! Same thing on the way back! I really don't mind the open seating and get there early anyway for an A or at least B boarding pass. Yes, I will use them again.

Welcome Home! Glad to hear you had a wonderful time.

We have 52 days to go.........heading down with DH and another couple for our 16th trip since 1985. We love going in December for all the Christmas stuff but Halloween at MK sound pretty cool as well.

Not sure I will do Mission Space though.......I have problems with motion sickness but DH can't wait to get there.

Enjoyed reading your reports!
