Hi! AND opinions on Yacht Club Wedding Gazebo v. Sea Breeze Point?

I wouldn't count on being allowed to have a ceremony at SBP if it rains. They do book you a backup room inside the Boardwalk Convention Center just in case. So glad we didn't have to use it!

But they did let us make a request as to which backup location to reserve, since we at least wanted a ballroom with windows, if we had to have a ballroom.

We are having this same dilemma!! Last week when we were at wdw we were on the boardwalk to check out the SBP and the Yacht club Gazebo.

There was a ceremony happening right at the boardwalk hotel...underneath the balcony that comes off the main lobby. I have not seen this listed anywhere as an option...is it an alternate? Has anyone heard of this before?

Has anybody had to have the ceremony moved inside? How did it go?

Also, does anyone have any pictures and how many locations there are at BWI for an indoor ceremony? I am worried about the "what ifs"? We will be working (hopefully) with Emily from Charming Events and will decorate for SBP. I wonder what happens if we get moved inside. I guess we need a back-up decorating plan!!

In case of rain, your coordinator will choose the alternate location based on what is available. They will only know a few hours before.

It was threatening rain on my wedding day and I talked to my coordinator about 2 hours before. She told me she was looking at alternates but was giving us a little more time (we had no guests or decorations, so there wouldn't need to be much to be moved and re-set-up). It ended up not raining until about an hour after our ceremony.

Try not to worry about the "what-ifs"...this is the one thing you really have no control over when it comes to your wedding. Trust Disney! This is also one of the benefits of having a coordinator...they will take care of it all for you if you need to be moved. I've only heard of a few brides who had to be moved...and none of them were disappointed with the alternate location! Trust that Disney will get it right!!

We loved SBP! It was so beautiful being on the water and the pictures came out great. I certainly didn't mind people stopping to watch and offer congratulations, it made us feel really special

Thank you all for your opinions and advice! We are 6 months away from getting married at the Gazebo. My fiance likes the privacy of the gazebo but I fell in love with those Seabreeze pics from the tazphoto link. Now we're torn as to which location to choose.

For all of the SBP brides can you let me know just how busy/noisy it would be late in the afternoon? The ceremony is at 5pm which my fiance thinks is the busiest time of day for that sidewalk.

Nonetheless I just like the pics of SBP better! Keep the advice coming, please!!

6 p.m. was extremely busy. I imagine 5 is a little less so, but still a busier time of day.

But is that a bad thing? I have to admit that I enjoyed the extra attention on my special day!

Yes, we are going with SBP! We had originally thought about a beach wedding, so I love how with SBP you have the water in the background to kind of give it a similar feel. And also FI doesn't like how the hotel is surrounding you at YCG.

We chose YCB over SBP, as we just felt it was so much prettier there surrounded by the roses. It is semi-private. Yes people can see from their balconies, there was the odd family above us, but they were respectful. As for being near a walk way, yes it is, but it's a good distance away, so much so, you really wouldn't even hear anyone talking. Disney are also great a keeping uninvited guests away from your wedding.
Plus we had loads of photos done with the water in the background, because the Yacht Club is situated right by the Boardwalk. My photos consist of the rose garden, the Boardwalk with the water in the background and the beautiful interior of the Yacht Club.
Where ever you decide is beautiful though, good luck choosing.
