Thanks Metro West!

Since we're chatting...what kind of things did they have going on last year for passholders the first weekend?

They usually have an AP party the first two weekends but I think it's lame. I went back in 2007 and was not impressed. I would much rather hang out in the S & S area.

It's all about the S&S area :thumbsup2

Have never done HHN before, and it has been so long since I have been to Universal. Just purchased S & S tickets for Sun. 10/24. Have 7 day park to park tickets. Plan on arriving at Universal by 4:30 at the latest. Where should I go? I understand the main holding area is near Finnegan's. Is there seating, can you buy food and or drink from the holding area, or do you have to get it ahead of time and take it there? When do you have to be in the holding area, and how long are you usually in that area. In WDW I carry lime green Mickey head. Is there something else I should have to meet fellow DIS'ers in the holding area? sorry I have so many questions, but this is so new to me.

Thanks for all your help.

Also, for the person who already had universal passes an wants to buy S & S tickets, I clicked on the S & S tickets I wanted. Then it came up with the pop-up that i had to buy regular passes. I then clicked on "continue shopping". On the next screen, I was able o go to "checkout", and put in purchase info. Just printed out the tickets.

Once you arrive at the park, you can head on over to the S & S area by Finnegan's. They will have barricades set up and will scan your ticket. Once there...you can go to Finnegan's and have dinner or a drink while you're waiting. I usually arrive around 4pm...go to Louie's for dinner and then to Starbuck's for a Mocha Frappuccino which I take to the holding area.

We usually have our DIS meets in the holding area and people will usually post pictures of themselves to see who you're looking for. It's a lot of fun!

If you try to buy the S & S upgrade tickets online, you will have to purchase both your park tickets and the HHN tickets. But you can purchase the HHN tickets at the park that day.

I already had the 7 day passes from AAA and was able to get the S & S tickets by doing as I posted. If you click on continue shopping, then on that page, go to checkout, it will allow you to do it.

That's good to know.

another ticket question.

to stay in the park (stay & scream???) do you need a specific stay&scream ticket? the one you buy specific on the website? OR can you stay IN the park with any ticket for HHN? ( like the regular full price ticket?) or the frequent fear pass?(waiting for the pricing of the passes with the express access)

how many discount tickets can you purchase with an annual pass?
I notce that the discounts using the annual passes are the same as IF you purchased the stay & scream listed on the website.

To your first question concerning stay & scream, you do not need a specific ticket. As long as you have any type of day ticket (single day, multi-day, AP) and any type of HHN ticket (regularly priced ticket, S&S discounted ticket, AP discounted ticket, frequent fear pass), you can access the stay & scream wait area. Just show your HHN pass to the TMs and they should direct you to the stay & scream waiting area, which is usually outside Finnegan's.

As for how many AP discounted HHN tickets can be purchased, I believe last year it was 6 per AP. I would expect that number to be the same this year.

Has anyone else heard the rumor that The Thing house might be returning in some form this year?!

I heard this was one of the best houses of recent years......

The updates have started again...

I live in Michigan and I love Halloween and haunted houses and I have always wanted to attend HHNs, but I have never been, mostly because I have always had school and couldn't afford to take a week off to visit.

However, I will be doing the Disney College Program starting in Aug so I am absolutely attending this year and I am pumped!! I am thinking that a frequent fear pass would be best for me since it is the same price as the one night admission and I have no desire to go on a Friday or Saturday night since I have heard the crowds are insane. Do I have to buy the frequent fear pass online or before hand? Or, could I purchase this type of ticket at the gates the first time I go?

One last thing, the picture of the Mummy looking guy is amazing!

You don't have to purchase it online. I usually purchase mine at Guest Services but you can get it at the gates too.

Will there be any way at all to plan what we're going to do/see the night we're there? Like a map or a preview to what houses are where?

Thanks!!!

Yes...a map will be available when everything has been revealed. The show times may or may not be posted prior to the event dates.

In the last few years, we've purchased a seven-day two-park Universal/multi-night HHN combo. Anyone know if they plan to offer it this year?

Which combo is this? Last year, I had a vacation package and even called and they had no combo. The year before that I had to buy the 2 park 7-day unlimited ticket (99 USD) and the Horror Nights ticket (FFP) separately.

Marquibiri :thumbsup2
