I arrived at the Studios at approximately 4:10pm and headed to the meeting place Macraven and I discussed...the park in front of Twister. She showed up around 4:30pm, chatted a bit and then walked over to the S & S area near Jimmy Neutron. She was very excited by the houses and from I was telling her from my experience on Friday...opening weekend. She commented on the fact the crowds seemed pretty light...A LOT lighter than the Friday night before. I saw a few people I remember seeing opening night.
Around 5:30 or so, they let us start queing for Nightmare on Elm Street: Dreamwalkers. We waited in line about 15 mins before we got inside...we did not use our EP's for this house. She and I both liked the house and since it's a sound stage house, it's very detailed.
We next headed for Psychoscareapy: Home for the Holidays beside Twister. Since the house wasn't open yet, we waited maybe 10 mins and went into the line...again...no EP. This was a fav of both of us and another sound stage house that's really detailed.
We exited the house and walked down to Friday the 13th: Camp Blood. They changed some things on this house from the first weekend and added some water features...I'll leave it at that. Again...no EP was used. When we exited the house, Macraven told me Jason was following me pretty much the whole time...I had no idea he was there. They changed some things at the exit and now have water features.
We walked over to Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Flesh Wounds and waited in the stand-by line for about 20 mins before the house opened. This house was better than I remembered and I really liked it. When we finished there, we took in the first Rocky Horror Picture Show Tribute at 7pm. Mac and I are RHPS fans anyway so we really enjoyed the show. The actors/singers were great and the costumes were just like the movie. The show is about 35 mins in length and a lot of fun. If you have never seen RHPS or if you object to risque subject matter, I would skip this show.
We headed over to Mel's so I could get a drink and we sat and chatted again. About that time, Jack was doing the Carnival of Carnage show on the stage. There was large crowd watching and I thought it was a great time to head to other houses before the crowd dispursed. BUT...no sooner had I said that, the show ended and the crowd wandered down towards the Freak Show area.
We made a right and headed for The Thing: Assimilation. MAKE sure you do this house first instead of Jack's Funhouse because of the walk from exit to entrance. We used the EP's for this house and I didn't like it as much as before...Mac wasn't real keen on this one either. But..it only took about 5 mins from the time they scanned the EP's and we entered the house.
Jack's Funhouse was next and EP's were again used. The wait was about 15 mins or so...the regular line looked to be somewhere in the 45 min area. We got the 3-D glasses and headed inside. I like this house and thought it was really cool with the bright colors and clowns everywhere.
We decided to have a quick break over near Jaws and chatted more..mainly about property taxes in FL and IL and the housing market in general.
Mac wanted to to Friday the 13th again so we entered and used the EP for this house.
We waited about 20 mins with the EP and entered the house. It makes a HUGE difference to do this house after dark and it seemed a lot scarier than before. We rounded a corner and this time I saw Jason get behind me this time. The SAME scareactor who got behind me the first time did it again. Mac thought maybe he knew me but I had no way of knowing who was behind that mask.
Vampyr: Blood Bath was next with a 15 stand-by wait time but we decided to use the EP's again with no wait. This house was a lot darker and smokier than the first time I did it. They also added more people and it seemed to flow better. This was a fun house but not one of my favs.
We decided to use the EP's for Dead Silence: The Curse of Mary Shaw with no wait. Even the stand-by line was about 10 mins. This is a fav of both of ours and the effects are awesome. This is the last of the sound stage houses.
Mac wanted to do Psychoscareapy again with the EP since we didn't use it before so we headed back down past Twister and went through the house again. This is now my fav mainly because of the "sets" used and the theming.
I needed something to eat so we headed to the Monster Cafe and had pizza. We talked more about her trip and problems she ran into at the hotels and then I took off. I thanked her and might come over on Sunday before they do the RIP Tour.
I stopped by L & F and chatted with Phamton for a few minutes and then headed to E.T 426 to get the car.
The weather was perfect...NO rain and a nice breeze for most of the night.
Mac was going back tonight and tomorrow night w/Express Passes in hand before concluding the weekend Sunday night with the RIP Tour.
Macraven was a lot of fun to hang out with and I really enjoyed meething another DIS'er in person.
We've already talked about next year!
Well...that's about it...for now. When she returns, I'm sure she'll post a nicer report on the RIP Tour and Disney problems she ran into.
