HHN Ticket Prices

Hi all - happy 4th July to you all across the atlantic!

I am a Uk HHN first timer and wanted to check on something another Uk parkgoer asked.

I am looking to S&S on the first thursday night, which will be the last night of my holiday. I'll have visited the park earlier in the holiday and was planning on buying the s&s ticket for the 29th then. Is that possible?

The reason is we didn't plan on having a long day at universal on the 29th, just a couple of hours late afternoon leading into HHN. Based on all the comments here I don't want to be buying the S&S that late in the game!

Really appreciate all the Advice you guys take the time to share here on these forums, so thankyou for that and in advance for any responses!

Matt

Yes...you can purchase the HHN ticket at the S & S upgrade price ahead of time and not have to use it until the date you choose. The only requirement is that you have your theme park ticket to qualify for the S & S upgrade price. However...you would still need to be in the Studios prior to park closing to do S & S. Having a HHN ticket does not qualify you to get into the park early so you would have to wait outside the gates until the general public is let in.

How does it work if you do S&S AND the EP? And does the EP get you into all of the houses/shows?

Lastly, what is the difference between the EP and the RIP tour?

TIA

I do the EP and S & S and it works beautifully. S & S will get you into several houses early and then the EP kicks in when the lines get long. It's nice not having to use the EP first thing...that way you can do the houses you really like twice. Macraven and I have been doing this for a few years now and we love it. Plus...the EP will get you Express access to all attractions open during HHN as well as the houses.

The RIP tour is a private tour of people who are taken to each house by a guide. You would basically get Express access for all shows and houses your group wants to do. The RIP tour can be pretty expensive. It depends on the number of people who sign up in your group and the tour does NOT include the HHN ticket itself...so you would still have to pay for that.

metro and i love the epp!

we do the houses early by starting out with the s&s holding area.
we do repeats on the houses we did while it was still light outside.
it is like a different house .....light/dark time period.

the only way for us to do the park for hhn...

there are regular 4 and 5 hour rip tours for the general public.
you plan on a date and choose the start time that is available, and have a tour guide take you through most of the houses.

it is a group tour with whoever signs up.
i don't want to quote last year's prices as i have no idea if there will be a change for them. last year had an increase for the tours. who knows how it will be this year.

the tour is well worth it.
you don't stand in regular lines but follow the tour guide.

the tour i always book is the private/exclusive tour.
it is different from the regular tours.
last year the cost was posted at about $2000. for a 7 hour tour.
i book it and have other homies in the group with me.
there is a max of 12 homies in the group.

i have no idea of this year's cost for that tour as none have been published yet.

i hope they continue the day tour for the houses.
the price might be different this year, if they have this tour again.

you have an informal presentation of the history of hhn.
q & a period and the last portion of this tour is a day walk through 3 houses.
q & a throughout this tour.

well worth this tour also!!

Thank you Metro and Mac!!

I think I was confusing the EP with the tours..just to be sure I understand, you can get into all the houses with either, but the tour is a group...would it be safe to compare the EP with a FP at WDW? Can you use an EP to go into a house more than once? I am thinking no, but just want to be sure.

Thanks again..we did S&S last time and saw a little more than half of the houses..we were debating on whether to go more than once in our vacation or get an EP. Heck, if we really like it, we may do both.

Come on Sept 24...:cool1::cool1:

The EP for HHN is once through the line...just like during the day.

Thanks Metro - it's awesome to come across a forum where people are so welcoming and helpful! I'm sure I'll have lots more questions between now and September!

In fact - a couple just popped into my head, one on topic and one not so much!

1. How busy is opening night at HHN? We are wondering if the night before we fly home may be a bit ambitious so are reconsidering slotting it in opening weekend! UFC on Saturday night only leaves friday (opening night!)

2. Blue Man Group - we took in the show in September 2008 for my fiancées birthday and had an amazing night. Does anyone know if the show has changed much since then? Don't really want to go if it hasn't changed!

Thanks again!

Matt

I can't help with the BMG question but I always go opening weekend to HHN and this year will be no exception. It's pretty busy on opening night mainly because people like me love to see what's new and are so glad HHN is here for another year. I would recommend EPs to make sure you can see everything and if you can do S & S, that will help even more. I'll be there in the holding area like always. :teeth:

Awesome - thanks againn Metro! S&S will be a certainty after you have explained it, will take a look at the express pass depending on price!

But I'll be there in that holding area for sure! How long does it usually get you in the park before the masses If you s&s? Does it let you get around much stuff ahead of the crowd?

Thanks again,

Matt

The general public isn't released into the park until 6:30 and the S & S people are released around 6pm so you have a good 30 minute head start and enough time to do at least three houses before the lines start to build. Since you're already in the park and near the soundstage houses, you really save a lot of time.

I figured opening night would be uncrowded, so I was just going to go over to IOA until 7 and then wander over to HHN. I will have express, but I like to go once through without using it. I really hate doing Stay & Scream because I can't take sitting around for an hour. If you think it is necessary for opening night, I might consider just eating at Finnegans that night, but I am going to go to HHN five or six nights and I was assuming that opening night would be the slowest night possible to go.

Also, I don't get what the tours are at all. The one during the day sounds more interesting. What is the benefit of going through the houses during the event with a guide? Its not like they can talk to you in the house. I just really don't get what that tour is.

Opening night isn't slow any longer...the first few years I went it was but not now. Since you're doing multiple nights and don't like to sit for an hour, you could just wait and come in later.

I've never done any of the tours so I can't speak from first hand experience. It's always out of my budget to do them but Macraven does the RIP tour every year. She can answer your questions about the tours.

I LOVE the rush of fear pass for $70 I get to go to Horror Nights for 4 days straight and if your not going to the parks during the day its a steal! Airfare, Hotel and four nights at Halloween Horror Nights for less than $1,000 for two people. That also includes transportation for two people. Can't beat it.

Happy Haunting everyone!

Counting down till showtime I am so pumped and if no one can go with me I guess its a solo trip from ATL

you are going on a saturday.
opening weekend.

can't say for sure if there will be crowds for that night which an epp would help you.

some of the prices that have been released are good.
one includes saturdays in the packet.

not sure if many out of state or locals, will take advantage of that deal.

if the night before, friday, sells out, then you can assume that saturday, when plan to attend, would have crowds.

the way the ticket prices and passes have been established for this year's hhn, might be difficult to predict crowd wise.

in past years, the lowest turn out has been on opening weekends.

How crowded is the Saturday after opening day? I am going to both regardless, I just want to have an idea so I can plan where to start.

with the new rof tickets, might be hard to predict at this point.

in past years, opening weekend has had the lowest crowds.
that could possibly change with the passes that are new this year .
