HHN Ticket Prices

Hey everyone! Hoping someone would be kind enough to confirm my plan so I know I'm not going insane.

My wife and I will be down at Universal on Sept 23rd and 24th. So am I correct that I can just get the Rush of Fear for 70 dollars each and we can go both nights? Otherwise we would have to pay 82 just to go one night?

Seems like an amazing deal, almost too good to be true so I wanted to make sure I wasn't misunderstanding.

Thanks everyone!
Not entirely correct. You wouldn't actually have to pay the full $82 to get in to each one because you would be able to buy a Stay & Scream ticket (less than $40 for each night) at a discount since you already have tickets to get into the parks. It's still less money to buy the Rush of Fear pass though.

For the other person, it doesn't matter where you buy your ticket. You only need to be able to get into the park during normal park hours to be eligible to purchase the Stay & Scream add on.

Does anyone know the restrictions associated with the Stay and Scream "add on" ticket. If we purchase say tickets from Costco - would we be able to use this ticket to stay for HHN? Or would you have to pay gate price?

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks!
As long as you have valid park admission for the day you wish to go, you can go to Guest Services and upgrade...it doesn't matter where you purchase the theme park tickets. The cost will vary depending on what day of the week you want to go. S & S upgrades run from $36.99 and up.

I think we are going Sunday - 10/16 - there is an option to buy online - can we do that and skip buying them at the park? I'm guessing you would have to be in the park and present the HHN ticket at a window... forgive the questions - our first time on the dark side!

No problem. You can purchase online and either do print at home or electronic pick up. You will need to have your tickets in hand when the gates open and try to be in line right after the park closes at 5pm. The line gets VERY long.

If you are going to be in the park during the day, you can do Stay & Scream which will save you lots of time and gives you a jump on the houses. All you would need is the valid HHN ticket for that night and you can stay.

*** One thing to remember. HHN is not like MNSSHP where the park stays open. The Studios will close and then reopen for HHN and a park sweep is done to remove the day guests. ***

I don't know if this will help anyone, but I called customer service yesterday and they said you cannot purchase S/S online unless you also purchase a park ticket at the same time. If you already have a park ticket from somewhere else and want to purchase S/S in advance you have to call them to do that.

it's always been like that.

the best reason to buy from universal online.

if you bought tickets 6 months ago, they will sell you the s & s ticket since they can prove you did buy the tickets from them..

one year i bought tickets online the 7 day passes in january.

when it came time to buy the hhn tickets, i called and gave them my confirmation number of the january sale.
was able to buy the s & s tickets thru them online then.

if you bought the ticket from somewhere else, you probably will have to buy the s & s at the park by showing your day ticket.

Yup...that's nothing new. The S & S upgrade is mainly for people who are already in the park on the day they want to attend HHN but you can purchase the regular HHN tickets online...which is what the PP asked about.

So here's another couple of random questions about getting the tickets since this is my first HHN

I have a Premier AP, which includes the free non-peak HHN ticket.

1. I'm assuming there is no way for me to pre-order my ticket since I live out of state..... I'm planning on being there 9/29. Since it's the 2nd weekend (first thursday), based off past experience is there any risk of a sell-out prior to my getting there?

2. The ability to take advantage of the S&S is just conditional on your having prior entrance into the park, and a ticket to HHN for that night, correct? IOW's, I don't need to get a special S&S ticket in order to take advantage of it since obviously I already have park admission thru my AP.

3. Based off other things I've read here, I'm seriously considering an Express Pass. Would they be likely to sell out prior to the night of? and if so, is it possible to pre-purchase the express before getting my HHN ticket at the gate?

For that matter.... is there anything else I should know since I'm basically a HHN virgin?

1. I believe you have to get the free ticket that comes with the Premier AP in person. You might be able to do it over the phone since they would have you pass information in the computer. You can call Guest Services and ask.

2. In order to do S & S, you must be in the park prior to closing on the night you wish to attend. You are directed to the holding area once the park closes and your HHN ticket is scanned. Then you hang out until everyone is released. All you need is your AP to get into the park and the HHN ticket to stay...nothing else to purchase.

3. I won't do HHN w/o an EP...the lines get too long and I'm talking 2 hours or more during peak nights. S & S will help to get you through some of the houses before the general public is admitted. But it's nice having the luxury to come back and do the house again if you really like it. Macraven and I do this every year.

Thanks! :goodvibes:goodvibes

:rotfl: the only question I must ask myself now is if i want to also plan on attending on the 30th. If so, that may change how I plan to do things a bit.

if you are in the park and decide to buy the s & s hhn ticket, don't wait until 4:30- 5:00 to go to guest services to buy it.

the line can be long depending on the date ...

buy the s&s ticket during the daytime, maybe before noon in order to avoid a long wait in line.

if you wait until park closing to buy the s&s ticket, it could take you an hour to finalize that transaction.

since the park is already closed at that point, you might not be allowed to walk back to the s&s section to wait for the early opening for hhn.

you might have to wait in line outside the park for the 6:30 opening time.

if you know in advance you are planning on staying for hhn, do it earlier in the day.

i have gone the second weekend for hhn in the past.
i don't see the crowds there as i do later in the month.

you asked if the ep would sell out.
in the past, no, that has not been an issue.

with the new price system listed, i can't believe they would sell out this year.

i remember one year metro when you didn't buy the express passes.
that was a bummer.......

when you started to buy the express passes, you were sold on them....

you all listen to metro. :thumbsup2
the express passes are worth it........

in the beginning of the event you do the houses early, it will still be light out.
with the express pass, you can repeat the houses when it is dark.

a very different experience in the dark..........

metro, same bat station, same bat channel for us again this year...?
you best say yes...

True.

EP is a must! Bought it the last two years. The first year did not.

I am really thinking on doing the RIP tours! Will decide later on.....

Yeah...I didn't buy it regularly until 2008 I think but I'll have to rely on Mac's steel trap of a mind. ;)

When I first started going to HHN the EPs were only $20.00 for Sundays. This one was from 2008...I still have my FFP from 2004 when they issued plastic cards with picture.

We'll be there for the first two nights of the event (sept 23 and 24). Does everyone think we should get Express passes to be safe or can we see everything in 2 nights since I'm assuming the crowds are lower the first weekend.

You should be OK if you're doing two nights.

I just spoke to Guest Services and was told that an RIP Tour ticket includes HHN admission along with guided tour, FOTL for houses, Express Pass for open rides and reserved seating for shows. Is that correct or do you need a HHN ticket or S&S in addition to the RIP Tour ticket? Thanks.

you have wrong information on the ticket portion.

if you book the RIP VIP tour for hhn, you are required to purchase the HHN ticket.

i have booked the exclusive private RIP tours for 7 years.
besides the cost of the tour, you have to buy the hhn ticket.

if you have a day ticket, you can buy the S&S ticket and use that for the hhn ticket for the tour.

yea, it does get pricey.......

I wanna...I wanna... I wanna go on the VIP RIP tour!
Can I go as usual for Friday and get the tour for Saturday?

Yes? No? Yes????

Weeeeee..... I want to, I'll be like in heaven.... Macraven! :lmao:
