We plan to do our first HHN on th 4th or 5th Oct and my wife will be 18 weeks pregnant. From your experience of HHN's, would you say it would be to intense for a pregnant woman and does raising your arm let the scare actors know you don't want to be frightened ?

Regards

Paul

scareactors are paid to scare people and arent supposed to talk. only certain ones are allowed (ie known characters/the Caretaker). they're also not allowed to fight back (many of them do get punched/kicked) or intentionally touch you in any way.
nwo, what that one scareactor did was uncalled for and you did the right thing. i hope he got fired for that. also, the guy you knocked down, even if it was unintentional, *could* have reported you, even though you let out that warning. there's OPD everywhere, and people do get arrested every night for attacking the scareactors.

also-i've seen some of the injury reports from HHN. when people get scared, they run and can smack into things. i read how one person ran from a scareactor, tripped on a curb, and chipped their teeth and broke an arm! the *ONLY* way to not risk getting scared is if you're being accompanied by security, health services, OPD, or some other employee. otherwise it's free game.

just my few ¢

Paul,

IMO she definitely shouldn't go in the mazes.I should think it would be OK to see the shows and walk around .

I personally wouldn't advise it to go at all though:eek:

Okay, now you've got ME scared (and I'm not pregnant).
Are these scare-actors who jump out at you wandering all over the park, or are they just in the haunted houses?

They are all over the park. You will see boxes or crates stacked along the side of the walkways . . . there is usually someone behind them. There are also scare actors just running around the park scaring everyone in sight. There are the rocks in the can guys, who basically sneak up behind you and shake the rocks right by your ear. When you aren't expecting it, it can make you jump a little. My favorite ones are the guys who actually have chainsaws and who chase you around. Who knows what new kinds of scare actors we will see this year . . .

I worked HHN for 9 yeas. I wouldn't advise any pregnant woman doing the houses. Your reaction to scareactors is only part of your concern. The other guests near you react and push, pull, and somtimes can injure you too. UO advises against all medical conditions, and clearly states that pregnancy is not recommended inside he houses. Enter at your own risk!
