Assuming HHN will be held on Wednesday, 10/26, that is the night we plan to attend. I plan on purchasing the express pass. We will only have event tickets, won't be in the park during the day. I am wondering though - is there a real advantage to already being in the park before the event starts? Are we going to be wasting a ton of time just trying to get thru the turnstiles?

I just did a little more digging and think I've found the solution....the non private VIP tour. We will go that route assuming it is offered again this year instead of the express pass.

For anyone with experience, what time does this VIP tour meet and how long does it usually last?

Thanks for the help and sorry for all the questions, just trying to make the most of our one and only night to do this.

The advantage to being in the park (in the Stay and Scream holding areas) is that you get released early to a few houses before the crowds are let in from the front. In the past we've been able to get through 3 houses with minimal wait before seeing crowds really build up.

But if you have Express Pass, it may not matter, except that with the early access to some houses, you can get in certain houses twice in one night (once with early access via SnS and a second time with EP)

Public tour very well worth it if you are going one night only

You are guarenteed to go through each house once and have reserved setting for the bill and Ted show

Your tour guide is in charge and the group stays together going into the houses

You don't wait at the end of the ep line but follow your tour guide when the TMs have you ready to enter the house

That sounds great! Is it one set time the tour begins each night or are there different times you can reserve?

We will have to wait and see when the schedule comes out for it

Don't know if it will be the same set up for tour times as it has been in past years

Last year there were different times each tour would begin
With many tours they are staggered for start times
This helps to prevent waits in the park for tours doing the houses

I might be wrong but think the Wednesday tours had 3 different start times

Thank you so much for the info, I'll definitely keep an eye out for more info when it's released!

We did a public VIP tour in 2015 and LOVED IT. I believe we were able to gain access to the VIP Lounge just after 6 pm, and our tour started at 7 pm (or something close to that). There was also a later time available for us to pick from, had we so chosen.

Ours lasted 4 hours, almost right to the minute. After that, our VIP credentials allowed us Express Pass entry into any of the rides which were running during the event.

Our guide was super knowledgeable (and gave us some great backstories on each of the houses before entering), there was NO wait at all at each house, and we enjoyed excellent reserved seats at the Bill & Ted show. We also got to down into the lower section of Men In Black where the aliens & computers are for drinks (not included, an extra purchase) and photos (if we wanted to take any with our own cameras).

Honestly, after experiencing HHN with a VIP tour, I can't imagine doing it without. Every L-O-N-G standby line you walk past, you will be saying to yourself....This was so worth the money!
