HHN planning - a few ?'s

I think everyone has pretty much covered it, but I wanted to throw in my few cents since HHN is probably my favorite event in Orlando all year.

I had a Frequent Fear Pass with Express last year and went a ridiculous amount of times. I think it was something like 15 but I didn't count. There were nights at the beginning of the month (besides sun before the holiday) that were dead. Only when it was about 10pm or so did some lines reach 15 minutes+.

My advice if you're going early on, and it's a non peak night (thurs/sun) is wait to purchase express after you gauge the crowds. It might not be worth the $30-$40 pp that you'd have to pay. I was in your boat once too, but now that I live here, I have a different perspective.

What's up dude! Hope you are doing well. Gotta catch up with all the new info from the boards... Will you be there during opening weekend this year? The following week?

Opening weekend this year should probably be on the 21st and 22nd. I can make it those two nights or plan for the next week, in which the studios will probably hold HHN for the 27th, 28th, 29th and 30th September, agree?

More days, same ticket type.. Sounds like a better option, huh?
Yeah...I'll be there opening weekend again this year. I've already requested 9/21 off. ;)

The next week I will be there on Sunday night only since my work schedule doesn't allow me to stay out late. I'm going to get the FFP w/Express again.

FFP probably not useful on Oct 10/11/12 (weds/thurs/fri) then?

The regular FFP is valid for any off peak night which is Sunday, Wednesday and Thurday nights. If you wanted to go on a Friday night, you would have to either add on the FFP Plus which includes Fridays or simply by another ticket for that one night. This is the reason I don't venture over on Friday nights.

So if you get the FFP w/Express can you still only use it for one time per house for the duration of your ticket or is it one house per night on each night that it's good for? Coming down for my first HHN this year and can't wait!

Still only once per house and attraction but it's for every night the FFP is valid. BTW...Express also includes the open attractions too...not just the houses.

i am so glad i am not the only one who is excited about HHN - i was so sad that i missed it in 2011 - we will are getting to orlando on sept 29 possibly hitting HHN the 29th and 30th but will definately be there the following weekend!!!

i will be flying my daughter over from LSU on the Oct 4th so she can come, she cant be with me the entire trip because its the week before mid terms at LSU so she is coming thursday night and flying home sunday night (if we can get her a red eye she will come to HHN sunday night as well)

we are actually going to purchase AP's this year (havent done this since 2008) because we will be coming back for Christmas and New Years.

202 days til i arrive in orlando, can you tell im excited!!!!

Just bumping this because I can't wait either!!! Already got RPR booked for 4 days in Mid-October!! Of course I was extra excited when I got an HHN ticket survey in my email... I got a great deal on the FFP Plus's last year with the AP, even having to add a Saturday night.

:love:HHN

i know the feeling.

i am completely and totally addicted to HHN....

for my upcoming october stay onsite, i booked last december......

Hey, Mac... This is probably a question for the "hotel" threads but I'm just curious, did you book your rooms this year for the SMSM rate? I thought you did that last year, and I was wondering if that turned out to be the best rate...

Hey all - Planning our third trip to HHN :) We've done the S&S previously and would want to again this year. If we buy the Costco park tickets are we able to add the S&S to those once all ticketing is announced and goes on sale for HHN?

Thanks,
john

Yes you can...it doesn't matter where the theme park tickets came from as long as you have them in hand. You will probably need to purchase HHN tickets at the S & S discount once you arrive at the park.

i was excited until i saw the various type of tix/prices

i wish they'd announce their official start date soon

nice to see they're still considering rush of fear for 1st 10 nights/1st three weeks of HHN. If it starts this year on 9/15, and 'dates' mean HHN nights falling in the 1st 3 weeks, i think:confused: the pass would work out for my dates again (1st week in October)

as a person who has never been to HHN :scared1: and not going this year im way obsessed with this thread :p Im getting really excited for you all:cool1:

One day...
Meanwhile i´ll just watch youtube videos and read here :surfweb:

Sorry, for clarification...we'll want to buy all of our tickets prior to arriving (we're planners by nature). So, is that still possible with tickets purchased separately (Costco, AAA, etc...)

Thanks,
john

the only way you could buy the discounted hhn tix in advance, meaning before you go to the parks, is to buy them on the website.

but, you need to prove you have the regular park tickets to do so.

if you buy your park tickets directly from UO, they will have a record of it.
when the time comes for the sale of hhn tix, you can call and tell them your order number of the park tickets so you can buy the additional add on/hhn tixs.

if you buy your day tickets in advance from cosco or ut, you won't be able to get the discounted stay and scream/ add on/ hhn tixs from the ticket site online.
you would have to buy the hhn tixs in the park.

to receive the discounted hhn tixs, show your day park ticket to qualify for that add on.

yes i did.
that smsm promo that started last year/'11, carried over to jan '12.
therefore i was able to book in december '11 for this years stay.
last year it was a 33% discount, this year it is a 30% discount.

i see they have extended the smsm so i might do the same for '13.

some years i have booked with AAA then switched to the promos when they came out.
a few times the promos for the fall did not show up until spring.

AP hotel rates are not out that far in advance which is why i use the AAA to secure the room.
my priority is hotel, room type, then price.

the ap room rates for the fall should be out in the late spring.

i'll only switch if those ap rates fall in september to the cheap rate.
that is if i can switch in time.

otherwise, i'm good for where i am with the 30% off.
