How busy is the first night generally?

I have plans for DD and I to go to Universal for a couple days in Sept and just realized that HHN opens that weekend. Thinking of surprising her with tickets if it isn't expected to be chaos. We would be going on Friday Sept 18.

I have reservations already for RPR so we are set for onsite hotel.

opening night for hhn is not that crowded.
once the media all leaves, i doubt you have large crowds for the hard ticket event.

i don't see the hours listed, but in past years, opening weekend hhn has had shorter hours than the other dates.

We are there the following weekend and I am hoping it is not too busy. Not for the party itself as we have no interest in going (DS is 9.5 and it is just us on this trip mainly for Harry Potter). I am just hoping it isn't crazy the whole weekend during the day as well. We are staying at HRH and figure we will just enjoy the pool those evenings, but I was hoping City Walk wouldn't be too crazy to get some dinner after a park day.

Question #2 - how scary is it? I am a bit of a wimp and while I am sure my DD will love it, I don't want to have her wanting to kill me from the embarrassment of her mom screaming like an overtired toddler.

i've never screamed or been suprised at the event.

but i have been with peeps that have screamed their little heads off.....

it always is good to have your cell phone ready to take their picture at that time.....

You will love doing horror nights with us..........:scared1::laughing::blush:

Attended opening weekend for a few consecutive years (maybe 4, can't recall :rolleyes1)
It was ok crowdwise.... then decided to swap one-two weeks later where I would get more days worth of ticket.

Cheers! :drinking1
