HHN........look !

::yes:: We also go at least 4 times while we're down :thumbsup2 ... I can't imagine how many times we'd go if we actually lived in Florida
I think DH and I managed to hit double digits last year, and he literally had to drag me out of there on the very last night. I swear, the first few weeks after it ends are soooo depressing because we literally go through withdrawal.

As much as I love HHN, I don't think I could ever go that many times. After a while it would get a little tiresome with the crowds.

As the season goes on, we learn our favorite houses and concentrate on those. We come early for Stay and Scream, do those a few times, then bail when the crowd gets bad. The scareactors tend to start to recognize us, so some of them "step things up" a bit too.

If we lived in FL, I know hubby would want to go every night he could. As much as I love HHN, I tend to get frustrated with the crowds too, however, I do like the idea of going back on the non-peak nights and then leaving when the crowds get bad. :thumbsup2 You get your fix and then off to do other things.

I take it we can pencil you in for the opening night meet? I know I'll be there that night. :thumbsup2

Metro, I can't wait to find out more. :)

we just moved here , and love every inch of Florida , (cept the swamps).
We're going to buy the Florida Resident passes too but I think we are going for the more expensive ones that give you one HHN included
with the pass.

I saw the $99 passes that are good until Dec, I'm guessing they do not include HHN. Which passes did you buy? popcorn::

She's talking about the Premier Annual Passes but there is no designation for FL residents. Unless it's an AP special, Universal doesn't care if you're a FL resident or not. Only the Premier AP has free HHN tickets as a benefit.

Ohhhhh, I think we will definitely invest in at least one Premier, possibly two for me and my DH. That way we get the parking perks, discounts, free HHN ticket, ect, but we'll probably go with the resident special for the other three.

I can't wait for October!!!! :yay:

I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Premier Passes. You can upgrade the free HHN tickets to Frequent Fear for a fairly cheap price. And the valet parking perk rocks, especially in the madness of HHN (although you'll wait a while for your car if you leave at closing). You can come for Stay and Scream and do some rides with your Premier FOTL before the park closes. Premier is the freakin' best AP in Orlando!!

Just called in to the PH hotline and they said they don't have the prices there yet. They said it would be about 3 weeks until they got the prices. I think this happened last year to.

It did..it took a while to load the AP stuff in the computer.

We have never bought an EP and have also never not been able to get into a house. IMHO being there for S&S is more important than EPs because you can be through 3 houses before the regular crowd is even admitted to the park. Also watch for traffic tips from people like Metro and Inkognito who are locals, they will be able to tell you which house exits to the entrance of another house. Just knowing that can save you a lot of walking from one place to the next so you can move efficiently from line to line.

If I had only 1 night and it was projected to be a crowded one I might spring for an EP. Frequent Fear passholders with S&S have the luxury of hitting 3 or 4 houses before there is any crowd then enjoying the shows and fear zones while the mobs queue up. Next visit you meander through the houses you missed. Third visit you revisit the ones you enjoyed, etc., etc., etc.

Plus, the best benefit of all with S&S is that you get to meet the people who you have been hanging out with on the boards all year :dance3:

My first ever post on this forum, and no better thread than HHN!
Ok, here it goes. I will be in Orlando for Opening night and Saturday Sep 26th. I booked vacation package online and got the Halloween Horror Nights & 2-park Unlimited Tickets Combo. So if I am correct, I will be able to stay inside the park after it closes? Someone posted somewhere else that they were able to stay by the Irish Pub near to The Mummy ride and have a few beers ( the area was cordoned off). Will I be able to do this? or stay by the holding area (wherever that is) without Stay and Scream tickets? Will my tickets get scanned inside the park then?

Thank you all,

Marquibiri

if you are in the park prior to when it closes, and have the hhn ticket, you do not have to leave the park.

you will be sent to the Stay and Scream area, which is a holding area.

in the past years, Finnegans, the irish pub you mentioned, has been the main S & S holding area. many of us meet there around 3:30 and have food and drink together. We visit to pass the time.

TM's will be in the roped off area on the side of
Finnegans and scan your hhn ticket then.

you have to be inside the roped off area of S & S.

you will be release when security gives the all clear signal to the TM's at the S&S area.

we all do hhn differently.
i always do the S&S but still buy the epp for the event.

if you don't feel the epp is to your advantage, i can see why you don't want to spend the extra money to buy it.

when i first started going to hhn, 10 years ago, i didn't need anything like the epp. the last few years the event has grown greatly and i budget the money for the epp's on the nights i go.

i prefer to do the houses twice and catch Team A and B in action for each house. same for the scare zones.

some of the scare actors really make a difference per set.

you can get 3 houses done very quickly and then do the other houses when it is not a packed night.

i always repeat the first 3 houses i do again, after it becomes dark.
it creates a very different scene at that point.

depending on what nights you go, can have more crowds and longer waits in line.

i just can't chance it not being able to go thru all the houses, zones and bill and ted's.
i drop a bundle on the trip, plane, hotel, etc and the epp allows me the time
to accomplish that.
I live out of town and plan my trips for hhn so i can cover 4 nights in a row for it.

if i lived in the area and could numerous times, then it would be a different story. i could do partial nights with the FFP.

first weekends for hhn are not bad for crowds.
the more you get into the season, the larger the crowds..
