Good Afternoon :)

We are leaving Disney for our Universal portion at 10:00 am Thur Oct 4,2012... I figure we will arrive and be settled in our room, and then head to IOA for lunch at Mythos @ 12:30. I am wondering what the park hours will be like that night? There is a scheduled HHN for the 4th of Oct. (according to the new thread about HHN dates) I am trying to gauge evening dining reservations for dinner....,thinking of making a reservation after the park closes for either NASCAR Grille or Margaritaville ......

Friday, Oct 5 is another scheduled HHN night. I thought Friday would be a good day for IOA (saving Universal for Saturday??? no party, as far as I can see)..... This day, lunch will be Three broomsticks, dinner will be in Citywalk at Margaritaville or NASCAR Grille depending on which one we eat at on Thursday night

Sat October 6: Universal Studios today? Lunch at Nathans ?...... Final dinner at Bubba Gumps :) what time do the parks close when there is not HHN??

Any thoughts on my plans? Feel free to give suggestions if I am overlooking anything!

thanks!

this is just my opinion.

you won't necessarily have a quick check in process at rph that thursday if you get to the hotel around 11ish, might be facing a line at that desk.

you will be told that rooms should be ready at 4:00.
depending on the room type, you might get lucky and the room will be available for you when you do check in.

many guests will use that thursday for check in for the HHN event.
(hhn will occur that thur - sunday)

if your room is not ready, you can leave your belongings with valet, no problem.
then hit your ressie at mythos that day.

check the city walk website for hours for that thursday.
hhn is over at midnight but not sure how long the restaurants will be open and serving on a week day date.

UO will close at 5 and IOA probably at 7 for the day guests.
HHN hours will be 6:30-12:00

Friday, same park hours as listed in thursday.
if you stay on site, utilize the early entry for parry hotter.

UO could see its crowds on Saturday.
it is a weekend. Peeps coming for hhn could come earlier for rides before the parks close.
same theory for Sunday.
With Monday being a holiday, some will have that day off of work. that could or could not influence the number that will attend HHN on sunday.

to answer your last question, parks close earlier in the non hhn nights and low season.
6 for UO, 7 for IOA usually.
really depends on dates and expected park attendance

There will be HHN on all of the Saturdays in October - its a premium night

Based on the rrelease of tickets on the UK Universal site, Horror Night Dates are likely (but not guaranteed) to be
October 4, 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28 and 31.

The post you refer to I think may be mine and it lists dates you can currently buy 2 Park HHN combo tickets for from the Official UK Universal website, and excludes availability of that ticket type for HHN nights on Saturdays
( http://www.universal-bookings.co.uk/park.html ) - but the party will be on all of the Saturdays. Its only Mondays & Tuesdays (and very occasionally a Wednesday early in the month) that are usually 'no party night'

hi Raven :) thanks for your Insight, I value your opinion as I know you are a regular to HHN. I know my room should be ready as it is a manager hold,( a special price//compensation from a previous room issue on our last trip) and has been arranged since Sept , the manager assistant even chose the room for me....so all should go well (fingers crossed :)...) if not ready, I guess we can just leave our stuff with bell services as you mentioned.

would you recommend doing Universal on the Friday instead of Saturday? Then going back to IOA on Sat?

In the listing of the thread I mentioned, it didn't have SAT Oct 6 as a listed HHN date..... Will there be HHN that Sat too???

Thanks for your thoughts :)

THANKS for clarifying! I didn't see Oct 6 listed on the first post.....guess we will have to deal with early closure and HHN on all our three nights we are there

on the 4,5,6,7th of october, ioa will close at 7 and the studios at 5 due to hhn.

when info comes out about hhn, read up on the day tours that will be offered.
i have done them each year since the first year they started.

i think they are well worth the money.
you gain a lot of insight into the theme and houses by going on one of these paid tours.

Im not trying to jack your thread I just didnt see anywhere else to post this.

I'm planning on coming to HHN for the first time this year but I have a couple questions.

1st. If I buy tickets to Ioa and universal do I have to buy seperate tickets to enjoy the HHN stuff?

I'm a big dude 6"3 300 lbs how many of the rides am I going to be able to ride?

HHN is a hard ticket event meaning you will need a separate ticket to enter. However...you can purchase the HHN ticket at a discount provided you've got your theme park ticket in hand. There are only a handful of rides open during HHN so I would stick with riding during the day and concentrate on the houses and shows for HHN.
