HHI - What 2 Bedroom to request?

Planning on a 2011 trip to HHI for Memorial Day weekend. I've been a owner there since 2001, however, I have never stayed. What room and/or view should I request? Do I need a transportation? How's the Beach House?

HH has marsh, pool and island views. We enjoy the marsh views the most. The resort is small enough that everything is very accessible. You will want transportation to get around the island, but there are 6 good dining options within walking distance of the resort and the resort provides transportation to the Beach House. There is a snack bar, pool and pool bar located there in addition to the Atlantic Ocean with a great beach.

There are about 300 restaurants on the island as well as some nice shopping, golf, tennis, art and history.

I would recommend a Marsh view over a pool view....we've seen dolphins from our marsh view rooms.

How's the Beach House? I haven't heard very much about it... Is it a nice place to hang out?

We were there last summer and LOVED LOVED LOVED the beach house. There is a pool with a bar and snack/lunch stand with refillable mugs. We bounced back and forth between the ocean and the pool. They have activities at the beach house as well.

We requested a marsh view close to the swimming pool and activity center...I think we were in building 24 which was just perfect for us. Out the door and 50 ft to our right is the swimming pool and community center where the planned activities are along with bike rental and store. LOVE LOVE the location. The beach house is nice. Another pool there and more activities inside the buildings surrounding the pool. Walk over the wooden bridge down to the beach. Great beach!!! Found live star fish and sand dollars along the beach.

How's the Beach House? I haven't heard very much about it... Is it a nice place to hang out?

For us, the draw is the ocean and walking on the beach, but we usually stop at the Beach House pool for a swim. There is an air-conditioned activity room if anyone needs to get out of the heat. During the summer, the pool is quite busy. The resort shuttle drops you off right at the front door of the facility and your room key will open the locked door. There are also outside showers to wash off the salt/sand from the beach. The resort recreational staff also schedules some activities at the beach house.
