HHI to WDW

How many hours does it take to drive from HHI to WDW? We are debating on whether or not to drive instead of fly for our December trip. Also, do you think that this is a good spot to spend the night?

We did it the first weekend in June - it takes between 4.5 and 5 hrs depending upon traffic - especially on the Island.

It is about 5 hours and we have also done it as an overnight stop on our way down from Connecticut a couple of times. The only thing you should be aware of is that from the I95 exit for Hilton Head you will have a drive of about 25 miles. It does put you a little out of your way as opposed to stopping at a hotel right off an exit but then you also won't find anything as nice right off I95. I don't know if it would be worth it to you if you are arriving late at night and leaving early the next morning. It is a really nice thing to do if you can possibly spend 2 nights and have a day at the beach before or on the way home from your trip.
