HHI room request

We are visiting HHI for the first time in June staying in a 1 br. I need help on were to request a room. We need either and elevator or 1st floor room because of medical reasons. Also, we would like a room near the pool and activites. Any suggestions?..Thanks

To get a room with elevator access you will need to be in the main lodge or the attached building next to it. But most of the 1BR's are in the Lodge anyway. They are not close to the pool though. But the resort itself is not that large anyway, so not sure that really matters.

To get a 1br near the pool, you would have some steps to climb, and the unit would be under a Grand Villa, which could be noisy. Buildings 11 and 12 are the two buildings mentioned above, and would be your best choice. 16 of the 21 2br lockoffs are in those buildings. (No buildings at HHI have ground level access - it's either steps, or elevator for buildings 11/12.)

We've been to HHI about a dozen times, almost always in a 1 BR, and like the main building best, mostly because of the elevator. And although walking is a medical difficulty for me, I can make it to the pool and general store. As a PP said, 16 of the 1 BRs are in the main building, or the attached building 12. The other 5 are in buildings 16, 18, 19, 28, and 30 on the first floor, but that's still one flight up. I love the view from building 18, but the elevator and for us, being on an upper floor (OK with the elevator) trump that.

Thanks guy From looking at a layout map the resort looks big. I was thinking is it something like OKW or CBR. So I'm now guessing that everything is in walking distance and there is no internal shuttle..Is that correct? I don't mind walking, but I really don't care for having to ride or drive around the resorts to get places.

We were in the building that was very close to the pool one down from it which is a 2 bed room. From there to the lodge is less than a 5 minute walk along the boardwalk. The resort seems big but it is not.
