Our trip is fast approaching:cool1: A few questions for the experts.

1 Room Requests. After reading the boards, I would like to request a top floor, marsh view. How do I put in the request, do I call MS:confused:

2Should I expect to be stung by jellyfish:confused3 DD and DS have never been to the ocean, and I don`t want to freak them out, they may not even go in the water if I bring up that possibility:scared1:

3 Publix or Piggly Wiggly for groceries:confused3

Any suggestions appreciated:)

We are going to and have never been here is what I would like. Are any of the marsh views close to the pool? How about the drink station? How close is the Pigg and Sams?

We usually put in our Marsh view request when we make the reservation. I would call the resort directly at this point in time.

We were there July 10-16 and the jellyfish were very bad this year. 3 out of the 6 of us were stung. First time any of us has been stung in the 8 years we have been there. Pack some meat tenderizer in your beach bag. It seems to help. The lifeguards have vinegar to spray and usually post on their info board when jelly fish are a threat.

We go to piggly because it is so close. Publix is larger and has a bigger selection, but more time consuming.

Have a great trip. We love this resort! So much to do and so peaceful too.

I AM RETIRED FROM PIGGLY WIGGLY SO THAT IS MY VOTE :cool1:

We don`t have either store here in Ontario, but I have been in a Publix before, not Piggly Wiggly, it looks like they have some cute Pig themed merchandise too;)

The Pig is okay in HH , but I much prefer Publix. You can check iheartpublix dot com and check specials. Just knowing what is on sale before I get there helps.

We have had good luck calling the resort a few days before to request a view. Love, love, love the marsh view. Good luck!

We have been to HHI about 15 times in the past 12 years. Never had a jellyfish problem. But, we live in FL so certainly have seen it. You can still enjoy the beach even if there are jellies.

Have a great visit, I miss HHI!

I was going to go with Harris Teeter b/c they have Express Lane for $1.95 this summer. So, what that means is I shop for everything online before I leave, they do the shopping, and I just pick it up at the store for a charge of $1.95. I thought that sounded like a great idea b/c our first day there I don't want to spend an hour or two in the grocery store. Don't I go by Harris Teeter on the way onto the Island heading to Disney HH? I thought that would be nice and easy.

^^^^^^
I would do this! I forget about Harris Teeter because it is not as close, but the time saved would make that short drive worth it! Wish we had a HT near us!

Hope this isn't off topic, but I just saw a good article in our local newspaper about first aid for jellyfish stings. (And, yes, urinating on it is an old wives' tale!)

The article said:
1. Rinse with seawater.
2. Rinse with vinegar.
3. Pat on baking soda and then scrape it off with the side of a credit card, which will remove any embedded stingers.

Never tried it, but I'm going to put vinegar and baking soda in my beach bag, just in case.
