HHI points still aren't ours- OK 2/22!

The company we dealt with has been mentioned here many times. It must deal with many timeshares, because the letter we received (on Monday the 14th) mentions "Please allow 30 days for possible recording delays and/or for your resort to be notified of the ownership change." We've gone through resale transactions 4 times previously and never got such a notification. I'm guessing that all of the timeshare companies deal with other companies than DVC, but in the past our correspondences seemed to have been less general.

Included with this letter was a satisfaction survey. If it weren't for the Disboards, I would probably just think that HHI takes longer, but that's not the case. I really do want closure and something (soon) for the thousands of dollars that we've sent!
Or they could have changed their paperwork. 30 days is pretty standard wording, including for DVC. HH does tend to take longer but obviously there were other issues in your situation as well, most of which were not under the control of the resale company or closing agent from what I can tell.

2/22 on my DMiL's birthday, the contracts have shown up in our account. It will take another day or two for the '11 and on points to actually be there. I am one happy person now. We liked our one trip to HHI enough to want to share it with our family. I really enjoy the Atlantic ocean and now we can all enjoy it in Cape May, NJ, as well as HHI and VB.

It was a transaction that took 4 months to complete. I wouldn't wish that sort of wait on anyone.

Thank you to all who gave me information and pixie dust.pixiedust:

YAY !!!! party:

So glad to hear Bobbi !! At last !! :yay:

DH & I have been keeping eye out for HHI add-on for our family but doubt we'll find it before Mar 20 so might just consider doing it direct, particularly after hearing of your experience....I don't think I could sustain being patient as long as you did ! We've come to really love HHI & find we want to spend more time there each time we go, but Jersey shore will always be near & dear to our hearts too (particularly Wildwood Crest & Cape May :)); we've got a long weekend coming up in Atlantic City next month when youngest DD competes there so hopefully we can get a quick afternoon trip in down the GSP for a CM fix ( maybe lunch at Merion Inn :goodvibes )

Yeah!!!

...but admit it, it was worth the wait:cloud9:.

As it happens, yes...it was a deal and the resort just called to DH and I to "buy me" after we stayed there.

PS. 5forDiz, I'm always happy to hear of another happy NJ vacationer! I grew up in north Jersey and Pt. Pleasant was my family's destination. DH grew up in Trenton, and they went to Wildwood. DH and I met on Seaside's Boardwalk on June 10, 1966 (I have to keep saying it, to just relive the thrill of being a "pick-up".) Good luck and pixiedust:to your DD. What sort of competition?

PPS. Just thank you everyone for the support!

Oh, Bobbi-I'm so sorry it took so long! What future trips there do you have planned (or at least hoping at this point)? It must have been such a frustrating 4 months for you!
