We will be spending 4 days(including Easter Sunday) at HHI. I have boys 13 and 9. They will be excited about the beach for about 1 1/2 days then I will need activities to keep them busy. Can anyone recommend places to visit or activities that are at the resort? Also, does anyone know if they still offer the Robert Irving cooking class that I read on the DIS about? Thanks

I don't know about the cooking class, but we'll also be there on Easter Sunday, and there will be an Easter Brunch at the Beach House, or at least that was the plan when I asked them in November. The week before Easter is the PGA tournament at Harbourtown, so there should be some interesting yachts to see both there, and hopefully, right in Shelter Cove. It's our first trip at that time of year, so I don't know what to expect weatherwise.

Bike Rentals are fun as there is a path to ride all the way to the beach, about a mile going under the highway & lots of paths around the resort bldgs. Lots of pool activities, games, contests, and other activities at the resort for the kids. There is also a pool at the beach. Across the bridge you can walk or ride bikes to the shopping/restaurant area. Evenings have campfire activities and games. Lots of other kids there to pal around with whether swimming or doing an activity. Lots of area at the resort to explore for kids. Movie rentals and games available for checkout. Excursions such as dolphin watching are also available. There is always shopping, mini golf and other activities in town away from the resort. I think you will love it!

Two words. Crab net. LOL My DS and his cousins were 11 and 9 and spent the entire time on the dock with a crab net. Talk about the excitement when they came running back to the villa to inform us that some nice gentleman leaving gave them chicken parts to fish with. Fun Fun. LOL

They enjoyed kids night out. When DS was there the following year he did Teen night out also. Don't worry the CM's keep the kids busy with games, etc. There's a pool table in the main lodge. There is a ping pong table, shuffle board. Goofy bingo. The campfire is a hoot.

There is a lot to do, we never seem to find the time to do it all. Have fun.

Janis
