HHI or Vero Beach in April?

We've never been to either of these and considering booking (when we can) for early April.

Anyone know what the weather is like and how cold the water is?

I want HHI, DH wants Vero Beach b/c he thinks the water will be warmer for the kids.

we went to HHI the end of april into early may last year and the weather was beautiful although I found theocean temp a bit on the cool side. it was really a nice time of year to be at HHI for us. we had a blast!

I went to HHI in May 2006 and the water was much cooler than was comfortable for swimming - the pools were packed and the ocean pretty empty.

I would expect VB to be warmer that HHI in early April but I can't confirm it personally.

April is borderline warm enough for VB. Not HHI. The air temps are unpredictable at best, but the ocean water at HHI in April is predictably not very warm. VB gets the gulf flow... so the waters are pretty good starting in early April. I have to agree with your DH.... April is VB time. May-August HHI. As far as temps go. I love waves... so VB is always my choice.
