HHI in May or June at 7 months

We stayed at HHI for five nights in a 2BR villa, starting June 15. SSR is our home resort. I was able to secure the reservation (using the old day-by-day method) at the seven month mark with no trouble.

When I called to reserve the first night, the CM told said she would check on availability over the course of our stay. She mentioned that they had "plenty" of two bedroom units available, but she suggested calling first thing in the morning. I did, and we got all five nights without going to the wait list.

Late May and early June are definite possiblity, but better luck with 2bd because there are more of them. Memorial day weekend will be almost impossible at 7 months. We plan at 11 months for late June and July/August the 3 times we have gone in prime summer. Early June should not be so difficult, but not a definite. We are trying for June 7-9, 2009 and will be making them at 11 month(next week). We specifically added on at HHI to our OKW points, just to get the 11 month window for the summer months.

Wow that's great..you no longer will have to do day-to-day in the future.

Thanks for the replies! Our stay would probably be early June (1st or 2nd wk) so I'm hoping to get a room.

This is good to know. I tried getting a 1 BR for this past July or August at the 7 month window and I couldn't get anything at all. I would love to go late May or early June - but I was worried about Memorial Day weekend.

Does anyone know how many grand villas there are at HHI ? I am hoping to get a 3br for president's week @ 7mo window ? I know the weather won't be great but it will be a closer drive for us.

There are only 5 GVs at Hilton Head.

I don't know how crowded the resort is for President's Day Week. My guess is that it's more crowded than other weeks at that time of the year, but I doubt it's at capacity.

You can always call MS now to see if GVs are available, even if you can't book yet. That way, if they're all already taken, you can come up with a "Plan B" before your 7-month window opens.
