HHI in June

I posted a poll a couple of weeks ago and the majority of you recommended I go to HHI in October instead of June. Well, due to a conflict in October, we are left with no choice but to go in June. We will be there June 5-10. Has anyone been there early June? If so, what are your experiences? My main concerns are weather, ocean temperature, pollen, and fishing.

We have been during that time. The weather will usually be hot, but the humidity will not have hit its max. The ocean will be enjoyable. After Memorial Day, the number of visitors ticks back up. Webmaster Doc will be able to advise you on all-things fishing.

We were there Jun 2010, 12-17 in a studio.

It was hottt!! and crowded. My only comparison was a December stay and for the things we like to do, December was better.

We love to ride bikes, and in June the paths were crowded and due to this, not as orderly which was not good for my son, not used to riding close to traffic.

Plenty of activities in June, it was just sooo hot!! We played mini golf 1 evening and it was like a bog.

Fishing was great. We fished off the pier and there were plenty of Stingrays caught so be prepared to cut line and re-hook.

I also went to Sams Club and purchased an Umbrella for the beach. You really dont want to be out there without shelter.

We had a great time, and since we dont own HHI it was a tough reservation to get. In the future I will stick with Oct or Dec.

Thanks for the insight. We've been for the last two summers, both times in July. I really don't mind the heat. I would much rather it be hot than even slightly cool, especially when hitting the pool and beach.

Thanks for the info about the fishing off the pier. This is what my boys live for when we go to HHI.
