HHI in december

What is te weather like there in december thinking about going week between Christmas and new years... is it nice enoug to sit by the pool or beach???

I am wondering the exact same thing! We will be there from Dec 23-28. We are SO hoping for warmish weather.

Deoends on your taste in weather -

generally high around 60-65 and lows in the 40s.

We went late in May 2006 and the water was too cold to go in, tho sitting on the beach was just fine.

Dec would definitely be sweater and glove weather at minimum for us

Depends on the year - I did try to get room close to the pool since I would run down to the hot tub and jump in even in chilly weather.

Even in Florida, sitting by the pools in December can be questionable most days. Hilton head is cooler than Florida. I also had a great time Kayaking during that week a couple of years back. It is also fun to go around at night and look at the Christmas lights.

We are going the week of New Year's arriving on Monday and departing on Sat. Jan. 2nd. We are excited!!!

We've been in late Feb / 1st wk Mar which is pretty close to temps in December and January according to accuweather historical info :

DEC High 60 / low 41 Avg 51
JAN High 58 / low 39 Avg 48
FEB High 61 / low 40 Avg 51
MAR High 68 / low 47 Avg 57

While we were there during this time daytime was 60's & even got in some low 70's temps too. We didn't go into ocean but beach was fine with short sleeve shirts, plenty of people wearing shorts too. Pools are heated but depending on temp you may or may not want to. Evenings light jacket was enough. We had gloves, heavy coats with us anyway because we drove down from NY & it's still freezing up here in Feb
