Does anyone know off-hand if Disney does anything special if you mention that we will be there to celebrate a birthday like they are prone to do at the onsite park resorts?

Also, we may be interested in having a family picture taken down by the beach if anyone has a reccomendation...

Thanks!

The only thing I've noticed is that they always have on the resort channel at HHI "Happy Anniversary..."[so-and-so] I think that's so cool (assuming other people also watch the resort channel). They don't do that at WDW.

I'd also love to know if anyone has used a photographer at the beach. We're going in 11 days and would love to have a family picture made at the beach.

I remember seeing several photographers listed in the free activity guides that you can pick up everywhere on the island that advertised beach photos of family groups. Sorry, can't offer any real names or use but I do definetly remember there were several because I thought about that for our next trip. :)

There is a photographer with a storefront in Shelter Cove Mall (the larger indoor mall near the resort) -- not too far from Belk. Also, this website: www.hiltonheadisland.com has some photographers listed. Click on services and you will get to them. (Eventually... ;) )

If you do have a family beach photo taken, please post who you used and how well you liked them. We have often considered doing something like that, but just haven't gotten around to it. Since the "kids" are now 22 and 19, they only spend a few days with us when we go to HH and we need to have it done before they won't even do that! :sad2:

I'll let you know what if anything they do for birthdays. I'm arriving at Hilton Head tomorrow and that is my birthday. I did find out that my sister called ahead to tell them it was my birthday so we'll see if they acknowledge it in any way.

Thanks for the link. We have made a reservation with Legacy Design Photography http://www.legacydigital.com/. The four on that page seemed really similar, and this one had a reasonable sitting fee ($65). Hope it works out. Will let everyone know how it goes... :-)

We celebrated my daughter's 9th bd there last June and they will put a Happy BD message on the resort channel (Which she thought was very cool) and also send a balloon with a card from Shadow (the resort dog mascot) and the castmembers. We did a dolphin cruise on her BD too - she says it was her best ever bd so I guess we have a lot to live up to now!

My birthday was last Wednesday, the day we checked in. That day happened to be member day so we got our choice of gifts. My BF chose the insulated coffee mug and I couldn't decide between the lanyard or the drawstring backpack and since they said it was a special day they gave me both. Waiting in our room was a birthday cake along with a card from the cast members. Now I did findout later that my sister purchased the cake. They also had the announcement that it was my day on the TV and it was there for the duration of our stay.

It was my first time at HHI and I can't wait to go back!

we were there last year on my DD's 3rd birthday. they sent over a bunch of balloons, a birthday card from Mickey and a small cake!!! (which was very good!). I was impressed.
