HHI 1BR Kitchen Question

Is there a large pot in the kitchen? We are going to do a shrimp boil one night using a recipe we found in Southern Living and need a large pot. If there isn't one in the kitchen we can bring one from home.

Last year in our 1 bdrm they had something along the lines of an 8 Qt. No reason not to bring one along just in case you need bigger.

If you're doing a shrimp boil, you will probably want to bring the stock pot from home. The largest pot in the HH kitchen is more a Dutch oven-style, which might not be large enough for a shrimp boil.

That sounds like a great idea! In which issue of SL was the recipe??

It is in the June issue on page 93. It's called Boiled Shrimp with Timmy's Shrimp Sauce. It's your basic boiled shrimp recipe with corn on the cob and new potatoes cooked in. Kind of what they do for the Low Country Boil. I'm going to cut the recipe in half and only get 2 lbs of shrimp since there are only 2 of us. I hope that little seafood stand close to Shelter Cove is still open to get the shrimp. Also I hope we can get some good tomatoes while we're down there for sandwiches.

Barnacle Bill's is still there. Publix sells local shrimp, as does Fresh Market, so you should have no trouble getting some good, fresh shrimp! The only fruit/vegetable stand I am aware of is when you first come on the island. I would check Fresh Market for the best tomatoes if you're looking for them from a grocery store.

I have to check out that recipe! It sounds like it would be great to make at HH!
