HH-- video PLAYERS, or video RECORDERS?

I never paid much attention as to whether or not I could record something on the VCR or if it is PLAY only. Now that I am hooked on LOST, I want to make sure I can record it while we are there so I can watch it after the kids go to bed! Has anyone recorded something and was it difficult to figure out how to do it on those machines? (I have trouble figuring out my own machine! )

I know they have been recorders in the past. But you never know -- things can change.

I'd call the front desk (834-341-4150) to make sure.

Are they replacing them with DVD's like the other resorts?

On a recent trip (Thanksgiving 2003, maybe?) the VCR was missing from our room when we checked in. We were told that they had had a problem with one in a different room and had taken "ours" to replace IT. They didn't have an extra on hand at the time...

The next day, they went out and bought one -- I guess regular retail -- which kind of surprised me.

I asked if they were going to be replacing them with DVD or VCR/DVD combo players, but was told that there were no plans to do that in the immediate future.

As of our most recent trip the status hadn't changed...
