HH stay nice but...

My family and I were at HHI last week and had a great time there. We were, however, a little disappointed in the condition of our room. There was mold growing in the Master bath shower. The cabinet spacer in the Master bath had fallen behind the cabinet leaving a big gap between the cabinet and the wall. The air conditioning unit was not working the first day of our stay. When maintenance came that night he found that the filter had not been cleaned in a long time and that the previous tenant had moved the temperature down to 53 degrees which caused the air conditioner to form ice and freeze. The last night we were there I was doing laundry and tried to close the door to the closet with the washer/drier because the washer is so loud and the door fell apart. There was also a cracked tile in the kitchen.

I let the front desk know about the condition of the room and she said she would report it to maintenance.

Just wondering if anyone else has been disappointed in the upkeep of the DVC resorts. Being relatively new owners the only other DVC resort we haved stayed in is SSR which is brand new.

That is funny, because I had...

moldy shower.
broken cabinet in Master bath.
screwy AC.
broken dryer hinge with a Really loud buzz while drying.
cracked tiled in the kitchen / hallway.

I was only there for 4 days, by the time I called to tell them, I was checking out. Didn't let it spoil my trip though.

It sounded like you were describing my room.. and I checked out the day before you checked in. (although we did not keep our room at 53)

We didn't let the condition of our room get in the way of our fun either. It was still nice to have all that space in the room. Especially after spending 19 hours in the car with three kids.

Maybe they are planning to remodel soon and they aren't doing any repairs.

By the way, who would want their room to be 53? If I wanted it that cold I'd open my windows on a nice spring day in June in MA.

Sorry to hear your room was in such bad condition! I'm glad you reported it.

Room 2012, room 2912...hmmmm....I'm staying away from anything ending in 12 if we ever stay at HH.

What did you do while you were there? How was the food? Glad you had fun!
