Do I want a woods or river view at HH? Never been there so what's better?
Also, do I want a studio in the lodge or not?
If someone who has been there could help, I'd appreciate it!

We always request a marsh view. It is nice to look out at the wildlife and boats going by. Have never stayed in a studio. I think most of them are in the lodge so you will probably be there. There is a parking garage under the lodge and it is the only building with an elevator.

We requested a marsh view but didn't get it. However, we were in the Main building and would definitely want to be there again. We could go to the porches in the back of the building and see the marsh. Also, the porches in the main building seemed nicer, more private, at least from our experience. We also stayed in a studio in building #28, which faced inwards woods, but we prefered the main building.

We've been to HH 6 times now and loved every stay. If you have a problem with stairs, ask to stay at the lodge. We had a studio once the was on the harbor side of the resort. We could hear the music from the entertainment on the other side of the harbor at night. We really enjoyed that, as well as yatch watching. We were close to the pool and the rec area which was great. Some of the slight down sides (really slight) are, to do laundry you had to haul everything to the lodge. Getting from the parking lot to our room at night was easy but we needed bug repellent due to the lights at the parking area. Up and down the stairs to our room especially taking luggage in and out was hard. If you go to your room multiply times a day the stairs can get to you.

We keep going back, so you know we really like it. HH is not our home resort. One day I would like to add on here but no $$$'s for that right now.

I would recommend the lodge with a marsh view on the top floor if you can get it. That's my favorite. I like the underground parking especially if it's raining, the elevator, close to the laundry room, the Den, and to sit out and watch the wild life. There really isn't a wooded view. I know when we arrive, settle in and walk down to the pool for the first time, I can feel my self totally relax. It happens everytime. Now I wish we were going there this year. We gave our son a week in June as a wedding gift for their Honeymoon. What better testment can anyone give.

No matter what room you get, I'm sure you'll love your stay.

We have been to HHI 5 times. We have stayed three times in the main lodge on 3rd level and had woods view. We stayed in 13 which is right behind the main lodge and it is very quiet, secluded and nice view also. These villas also allow you to have covered parking very close to your room. Others like 21, 22, 23,27 are alittle far from your parking area. The best villa we had was last July in building 31 (1 bdroom). We had a great view of the entrance to shelter cove and saw the kayaker and boats enter and leave all the time. The best part was watching the dolphins right at the mouth of the cove every morning during breakfast! There was a school of 4-5 of them and they actually hung around the kayakers! We also had a great view of the barge that launches the fireworks on Tues. nites. The whole resort is fabulous! We are returnign July 2004!
