We're debating on going to either HH (I'm hold a 1 bedroom for 5 nights), there's tons of room at Vero. Our kids are 6 & 10 - any suggestions on which resort would be better. HH we could drive & probably would be cheaper. Right now I'm looking for airfare
to Orlando & it's over $200 for mid-Oct.

My DH & I have never been to HH & would love to check it out. But this is a kids vacation since DH & I will be in Bahamas by ourself next month (still feeling guilty)!

Comments on both! Thanks

I haven't been to HH yet but we have gone to VB during Columbus day week on 2 occassions. MY DD's love it! The weather was beautiful and the girls had a blast. Wish I could go again that time but I can no longer take DD #1 out of school!!

Either one, have a great time!

We have been to both, at HH the Main Pool and ocean is across the main street and about a 1/2 mile away. If you can afford the airline tx, I would think VB would be more fun for the kids. Both resorts have a lot of activities for kids. But IMO VB is a better choice for you if you can find cheap flights for your time of traveling.

We went to VB last October and are booked again for this Oct. We loved it! Our two older children (now 6 and 9 yrs) loved it as well. We stayed four days and only left the VB grounds twice to go to dinner. The kids participated in several activities they had never done before (archery to name one!). We've not done HH, but have planned a trip there for New Year's. We are looking forward to comparing the two, but are sure we'll love it as well. :)

Hi

I haven't been to VB but have been to HH three times with 2 young children (3 and 5 yo). I love HH and there are a lot of activities and the CM's are terrific with the kids. We just got back from being there over the 4th of July and we sent the kids to "Kids night out" the first day we were there so we could enjoy a dinner out. They took them out to a movie! THere were over 20 kids I think - and then 2 days later, I ran into a couple of the CM's with my daughter and they remembered her name and made a big fuss over her - and then remembered my son's name at the pool party. I love the fact that you have both the marsh environment and the beach house. I want to go back and do the Dolphin boats, or the kayaking. My kids loved fishing on the pier too. And B'Lue the magician/fiddler/singer/balloon artist was also wonderful to talk to and my daughter loved the dog, Shadow.

I'm sure VB is great and I can't wait to try it out, but we live 2 hours away from HH and I truly love going there. So I don't think you'll do badly with either choice...

I would consider the weather HH that time of the year. I have never been theie myself and would love to go.
I have been to Vero in June. It is very wonderful. We only leave for grocerys. As far south as it is it should be nice anytime of the year.

I've never been to VB. However, we went to HH in late April this year and our kids loved it. They had lots of fun and keep asking when we can go back.

I don't think you will make a mistake for either one. The difference might be the air fare. HH has a better beach although the water will be cooler than VB. VB, being more isolated, has pretty intensive kids programs, although HH has plenty also. VB pool is better than HH and the slide is better. AT HH you will have the Shelter Cove Marina that you can walk to and visit six or seven restaurants. Also the dolphin watch is available for the kids.
It probably comes down to the air fare. With a car at HH it opens up some other venues. on the Island.
