HH in the summer and the 7mos booking?

Hey gang. We lost our HH contract to Disney and are no looking at where to go next.

What is your real world experience booking a room at HH for a summer vacation at the 7 mos. window?

On Nov. 26, 2002, I booked June 5-8, 2003 with absolutely no problem.

We had a studio room in building 30. We celebrated our 20th anniversary and Disney had a small bottle of champagne in the room for us.

Last February,we booked a 5 night stay in a 2BR at HH from 7/20 to 7/25 without a problem. Then In May, we realized that our DS was going to completely tank 9th grade English and was going to need to go to summer school (the whole month of July), so we canceled that week at HH. We tried to reschedule HH for August, but by that time it was booked solid. We ended up staying at WLV for 3 nights before we moved to BCV during that last 2 weeks of August.

I booked exactly 7 mos out for an August 10 - 16 stay and had no problem getting the two bedrooom. I waitlisted for the one bedroom, but that never came through.

The last year or so, many have gotten into HH for summer. The tough time will be mid June to the third week of August but all weeks are not created equal. Past experiences and common sense would dictate to buy HH if you want to stay there in Summer with any regularity. You can always rent for cash, rent points or look for a direct exchange with another member.

We booked at the 7 month window for this past July and got a 2BR & Studio with no problem! We avoided the wekend and stayd Sun - Fri.

We had a great trip.

Stacy I am so sorry. Golly gee I know you wanted that contract. Are you already making another offer on another one? I know I have been looking. They have some resales on Jaki site. That is where I have my name listed. Can't afford right now. I want HH also but have to wait until next year.

July, I spoke to Jaki today. We're really having to ask ourselves if HH is worth the resale baggage.

We're not sure how often we would actually go to HH. But what we do know is that when we would go would be during the summer(peak season at HH). Meanwhile we will probably never go the WDW during the holidays (peak season), though we will go to WDW most often.

And if things change with SSR's incentives, it will be out of our price range, so if we go for another resale, in 30 days we could be locked into resale or no trip til 2005(after renting back the points to disney).

I'm so sorry the pixie dust we sent your way just wasn't enough.
But I know what you mean about HH & summer. That's why I want to buy a resale add-on there next year. I have had such good luck in getting rooms at OKW, BWV. When we were buying I wanted HH or Vero and the only thing available at the time through Disney was Vero. I live so close to Disney I would rather have VB & HH. It is hard to get in on spring break unless you have that 11 month window. I hear it is the same a few weeks in summer at HH.
