Just wondering if there is a lot to do for older children (13 -19) at HH. Always reading there are a lot of activites for younger children. Can you rent any water crafts at the resort? Are there places close to the resort that you can walk to, or is everything driving distance (min golf etc.) thanks

There are no rentals right at the resort, but there are water programs available thru the rec program at the resort. Kayaking, canoeing, fishing, Dolphin Cruises, etc. . There is a rental company on the way to the beach house which could be walked (it's just under a mile from the resort). The resort shuttle would, most likely, be happy to drop you off on the way and there is also the free Palmetto Dunes Buggy shuttle that is available for such transportation.

The marina adjacent to the resort does not allow jet skis in the harbour, so those would have to be rented someplace else- and accessed by car.

The resort recreation staff will be happy to advise about the best places to find these services. There will also be information about such services in the literature provided at check-in about area activites.

You might also take a look at HiltonHead.com for some good info about activities and dining.

A company called Outside Hilton Head does a kayak trip just for teens. My teen and a family friend (one boy, one girl) did it last summer and enjoyed it.

We were able to rent Wave Runners at the dock by the lighthouse. The Dolphin Boat ride is fun and it leaves from the area next to the resort. You will need to drive to get to mini golf or a movie. We mostly hung out at the beach. FYI, we went in late June and there was lots of rain. Have fun.
