Anyone been to Hilton Head during President's week in Feb? We are thinking about it, but have never been there in winter months. Whats the weather like? Beach possible? Also, if I want to go on Sunday February 15, when can I book it (not a home resort)?

TIA for any info you can offer....

I don't know how the weather is, but I do know you can book now. I booked President's week a couple of weeks ago at a non-home resort.

Temperatures in February will typically range from low 60's to upper 70's. The pools are heated, so swimming will be possible. The beach will be delightful for ocean gazing and walking, but the ocean temps will be in the low 60's - a little too cool for my tastes! :)

Reservations for February 15 have been accepted for non-home points since July 15.

Have a great trip! :)

We were on HHI this year Presidents Day week. It was really lovely. It was too cold for the ocean but the walks on the beach were wonderful. We wore shorts every day but needed a jacket in the am and pm. The pools were busy as the daytime temp did approach the upper 70's on a couple of days. We really liked being there "off-season". It was easy to get in restaurants and traffic was really light.

We loved it!! Matter of fact, that is why we bought our DVC points. We were there with Marriott and liked it so much we decided that we wanted to come every year at that time. (We have another HHI week that we use for summer every other year) We had come close to buying Disney previously so we walked the resort there, came home and bought points.

The key word is "typically". We went once in late February and the weather was windy, rainy, and in the 40s and 50s all week. Of course, the CMs kept telling us "Oh, you should have been here last week, it was sunny and in the 80s all week." The weather was miserable. Did we have a good time, though? Well, Big Murgie's Den had warm cider and home-made cranberry nut cookies every afternoon, "nuf said (meaning we loved it!).
