We're wondering how many floors the HH buildings are. As I understand it, only the lodge has elevators. Is this correct? What type of units are located on the 1st floor of the other buildings? Would being on the first floor take away from the view?

Thanks!

I'll try to explain it. There are 3 "floors" in all the buildings except the main lodge. However, the first "floor" is really not a floor where there's a villa. The buildings had to be built one "floor" up due to water. So even if your room assignment is on the first floor, you'll be one "floor" up. And you're right, only the main lodge (which has 4 "floors", but 3 floors of villas) has an elevator. I hope that all makes sense.

Thanks. Do the regular buildings, not the lodge, have 3 floors of villas? Or only 2 floors of villas, thus making them 3 "floors" up? I'm concerned about the number of steps, since I'm planning a trip for 6 "seniors", and want to let the others know what to expect, and whether or not they would prefer the lodge with an elevator, or the other buildings with the steps.

I believe the other buildings have three floors in them also. The grand villas have an entrance on the second floor, and take up the top two floors of several buildings.

I recall our first floor studio as having about four steps up to a landing, and then about 3 steps up to the entrance to the studio.

Actually, the other buildings have only two floors of villas.

The five buildings with GVs have a center section that has a third floor (the top floor of the GV), but the "ends" of the building are only two villas "high".

Disneygrandma, when are you planning to go to HH? The reason I ask is that if you are getting a 2BR and want to be in the main lodge during the high season, you will probably need to reserve a handicapped accessible room. The only 2BRs in the main lodge are actually lockoffs and are usually reserved as 1BRs and studios. Since there are so few studios and 1BRs at the resort, I don't think that they would take a 1BR and studio out of service during the high season unless it was requested for handicapped accessibility.

As to whether or not being on the first floor restricts your view, that depends on where your villa is located. If you have a pool view or interior villa, it really doesn't make much difference; if you have a marsh view, there are trees which can obstruct the view more from the first floor than the second floor during the spring and summer months.

Hope this all made sense. ;)

When is the high season at HH? We're planning to go in October. Will we have trouble booking at the 7 mo window for Oct? We realize there are only 5 GV's at HH. What do you think our chances will be? I think we would need to have 3 bathrooms, so we could do combinations of a 2 bdrm & a studio. Or 2 studios & a 1 bdrm. We would like to have the kitchen & w/d, so we would need atleast a 1 bdrm. What type of villa does HH have the most of?

Thanks!
