HH at 7 months-summer ressie?

Hi-

We are planning to take our 1st HH trip next summer and several family members are planning to join us (Oh yeah, sure, we'd LOVE to come...."") Our larger contract is OKW and HH is an add on. Even with banking/borrowing, I won't have enough HH points for all of us and will need to also use OKW points.

Is it difficult to get 2 BR at 7 months or should I try to trade some of my OKW points with another member for HH points for that year so I can book us all at 11 months?

Reserving a 2BR is easier at 7 months than a 1BR or Studio, as I think there are more 2BR than anything. If you are flexible with your dates, maybe you will get it with your OKW points. I can't advise about the switching points with another HH owner; I have never done this.

Unfortunately, we won't be too flexible with our dates. I would like to book as many ressies as possible using our HH points at 11 months as I hate to "squander" our home resort advantage... have you or anyone else been unsuccessful with getting a 2br 7 months out, even via the wait list? What are my chances compared to, say, BWV (to put it in terms I can understand)?

Sorry if I'm asking you to predict the future ...I just want to get a sense of impossible or not.

We went to HH in the summer of 2001, early June. We got a one bedroom with no problem. We are going this summer in early June and have ressies for a 2 bedroom.

We made both ressies at exactly 7 months out. I think it may really depned on when you are going. Early June works for us since our schools are out early. That may be a big factor.

Our first trip to HH was in July. We stayed in a 2 bedroom and had no problem getting our reservation. I called day by day to just make sure there wasn't a problem getting our reservation. Good luck!

When you're going IS a factor -- if you're looking for 4th of July week, for example, you may be out of luck for anything at 7 months.

How many nights are you going? If your stay includes weekends, save those for the 7 month mark and just book your Sunday through Thursday nights at 11 months (if you have enough points for what you need). Even during high season, the resort empties out a lot on weekends because of the very high point requirements.

We went the first week of June last year. And, we are going the second week of June this year. Both times we were able to book at the 7th month window for a 2 BR. We called day by day just to be safe.

We had originally had a summer ressie at HHI for the end of June, but had to change our plans to August. I called about 2-3 weeks ago and was able to change it, but MS said they were taking it out of the cash reservations and it was the last one. So in answer to your question, it is possible but do it ASAP.
