Do all of the bldgs at HH have 1 bdrms in them??

We are checking in on Sunday :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc   :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc and would like to have a "marsh" view room if possible.

Did anyone who has stayed in a marsh view room not like it?? Why??

Other recommendations for location, if there are choices. We were in bldg 16 last Oct.

I plan to spend lots of time in a rocking chair on the porch and might enjoy a "view". :Pinkbounc

There are very few buildings with one bdrms in them. If memory serves me right, there are only about 12 1BRs on the whole property (compared to at least 70 dedicated 2BRs) with the largest collection of 1BRs in the main lodge where there are at least 6 of them.

Love the marsh view...it's great waking up to the egrets and sunrise reflecting off the creek and eating breakfast on the porch.

Enjoy your stay.

Regards

There are 12 1 BRs in the main lodge, including the one where this view is from, #1132-

There are also 5 other 1 BRs in other buildings (I don't remember those building #s). We always like the top floor of the main lodge best.

HH has a total of 21 1BRs (and also 21 Studios). All are lock-offs. 16 are located in the Live Oak Lodge - buildings 11/12 and the other 5 are found under each of the 5 GVs. There is one GV (and one 1BR/Studio) in buildings 16,18,19, 28 and 30.

Half of those in building 11 and the one in building 18 will have a marsh view and the rest have an island view. None have a pool view. Some of the "island view" villas will also have a glimpse of part of the marsh (this is the case with building 12).

Here is a HH Resort summary.

Enjoy!

I've stayed in 3 different one bedrooms at HH. Two being in building 12 and one in building 18. I enjoyed the view from 18; however I'm not sure being under a GV is something I'd want to do again. It was very loud above us; not from rude or partying type neighbors, just loud from walking around and their hours were off from ours! Building 18 was, however, convenient to the pool and community hall. When we stayed in building 12 - the view was nothing great, but the noise was not a problem. Have a great time lsutigger - our family loves it there even with noise or with a boring view!

Thanks for all the replys! Now I have a better idea of my options, if there are any. We stayed in Bldg 16 in Oct 05 and didn't realize that we were underneath a GV. Guess that was a good thing!

One more question: Can I assume that all the villas have the same porches - nice and wide with a picnic table and rocking chairs?? It is hard to tell from the pictures I've seen of those in the lodge if they have the same type porches.

I just   those porches!

Yes, all 1BR villas at HH have the large porches with picnic tables and rockers including those in the lodge. The lodge porches have privacy dividers and concrete flooring - alittle different than the open porches with wooden floors in the other buildings.

Are all the studios in the main lodge ha. We are going in april and will be getting a room for my daughter and my new born grandson. i was hoping to get them a room in the main lodge (the elevator is great for the stroller) but ms said that all studios in the lodge were ha. Is this true?

All of the HA rooms are in the lodge - because that is the only building with elevator access - but not all of the lodge villas are HA. I think there are only 2 or 3 (possible four) HA lockoffs in the lodge. We have stayed in both types in that building.

Thanks for the reassurance about the porch! Was worried there for a bit!

Simba's Mom: Thanks for the pic. That would be a good view.

Guess I'll just have to wait and see what the "reservation guru's" have in store for us when we get there on Sunday. We'll be staying in Jacksonville on Saturday night, so we should get to HH before noon on Sunday.

I'm ready to :moped: !

At this time of year, arriving on a Sunday, I would imagine that you will have your pick of what you want. ;)

Have a wonderful time...

Building 18 is the best location, IMHO. Midway between the pool/snack bar and the lodge. Great marsh view, whereas the others may have a hammock or horseshoes view. We have this requested for our trip next summer. We have stayed in the studio in 18 and loved it, except for hauling the laundry, which is not an issue with a 1BR.

When you check in, ask if the GV in building 18 is being occupied while you're there. If it's not (and at this time of year, that IS a possibility), there is no doubt where you should stay. If it IS being occupied, you will need to decide between convenience to the pool, mercantile, etc. and the possible noise factor.

Thanks for all the suggestions on the one bedroom locations. I had looked at the map of the resort I kept from last year (just knew it would come in handy!!) and thought maybe 18 would be a great location.

The bags are packed, the groceries are packed and so are the golf clubs! Dropping the :dog2: :dog: off in the morning at the "spa" and heading out :moped: .

Will do a trip report when we return.

Have a great trip! The bldg18 one bedroom is very convenient, but I actually prefer the top floor lodge one bedrooms. Elevator, better parking directly under the building and a great view if you get the exterior marsh view.

Keep good notes for that trip report!
