Please help me decide between these two hotels for our upcoming sea world trip. Last time we stayed at the renaissance and loved it, by they are booked for a conference right now so I want to get plan b in the works!

I want a place close to sea world. We will be there 4 days and only plan to visit sea world and spend time relaxing at the hotel. I will be with m 5 year old daughter so a good kid friendly pool is a plus. Both hotels are virtually the same price. Both include parking and wifi. I think only spring hill includes breakfast which is a plus.

Has anyone stayed at both to help me choose?

Thanks!!

I have stayed at neither, but from what I have researched, the Hilton Grand Vacations will be more upscale and have more of a "resort" feel that the Springhill Suites, which is a standard hotel. Also, the HGV will give you the option of booking a room with a fully separate bedroom (and a washer and dryer) where Springhill Suites only have a part wall partition separating the living and sleeping areas.

The Residence Inn SeaWorld is where we stayed over Christmas, and we were very happy. The breakfast buffet is excellent (and free), and parking, park transportation, Quick Queue passes, and internet were all also complimentary. The pool area is lovely with a large zero-entry lagoon style pool. The room had a fully separate bedroom, two flat screen TV's, and a full kitchen. You can check out my trip report (see the link in my signature) for lots and lots of pictures of the room and the common areas.

Hope that helps a little!

I too have not stayed at either, but I did stay at the Fairfield which shares the pool area and shuttle with the Springhill. If you are looking for a resort area pool, the Fairfield/Springhill is not. Though my kids are much older, they thought the pool area was lame. It is perfect for a toddler, but small. I would think you would like a more resort feel, so I say go to the other. Or, as Gina suggested, the Residence Inn at SW is right down the street and is about a 5 minute drive to SW, DC, and Aquadica.

Have stayed at the HGVC and LOVED IT! The rooms were very nice and the property and staff were excellent. We had a 1BR Suite so the bedroom had a King Bed and there was a large whirlpool tub in the room off to the side. Then you had the bathroom with a walk in shower, kitchen, dining area, living area and we had one with a screened in porch that you could access from the living room or the bedroom. Also had a washer/dryer which comes in very handy :)

We walked over to Seaworld a couple times and the walk is not that bad. My sister and her family took the bus to Seaworld and then took a taxi back from Aquatica and the price of the taxi trip was pretty reasonable if you didn't want to wait on a bus or walk.

They had a nice pool area and covered playground and then we ate at the pool resturant one night and the food was pretty good. One day they had a cookout at the pool so we got some sandwhiches there and then there was live music and lots of activities for the kids. Some of the activites were free and others were for a fee, but the fee was not that bad.

I think you have me sold and I should switch my reservation to the Hilton. The rate is $10 cheaper per night so I can always use that money for breakfast!! I am certainly looking for the "resort" feel. There is nothing better than hearing my kid say wow, we have done nothing today!! Love that!

:thumbsup2 Have a great time!!

It would be great if you could come back after your trip and provide a mini-report (with some photos!) of your stay at Hilton Grand Vacations SW. That kind of feedback is always so valuable to readers of this board!

Sure thing. Spring Hill gets rave reviews so I am sure either would be great, but the "resort" feel and movie nights sold me...and it's $40 cheaper for a suite at HGV. I will buy a dozen eggs and some bagels and eat breakfast in the room to make up for the lack of a free breakfast. :)

Thanks!!

We stayed at HGV last summer for one night. It was great. Was nice to have a separate bedroom from the living area. Staff was great and there are multiple pools on the property. There are plenty of places close by to get breakfast plus you have a full kitchen so you could always bring in some easy to make breakfasts. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
