I finally got around to watching the whole program last night. While it is a beautiful house, once again, I think it is really impractical. First, only two workable bedrooms, the "dorm" isn't really a long term bedroom. Second, all that open space on the first floor but no real intimate space. Where would an office go? playroom? Finally, all I could think about when looking at the "ski dorm" was how much work it would be to keep up! Imagine trying to change the sheets on four upper bunks or cleaning that bathroom all the time.

LOL, I sound like such a fuddy duddy but I think the designers go for "WOW" and not for livable. That said, I think I will still enter and take the car and cash.

Right - even if you get enough cash to pay the IRS, you have the annual property taxes and insurance on a milion dollar+ house, plus utilities. The folks who won the house a few years back in east Texas tried to turn part of it (the guest house maybe?) into a B&B but the city wouldn't permit it.

My thoughts exactly .. in fact I went online to check the floorplan because I could not believe it was a 2 bedroom plus bunk room house. ... they have done better more liveable houses in the past.

This, like some of the other HGTV homes are built in a vacation home style. I can see this as a weekend getaway with friends. I imagine that the homes in that resort are all vacation homes.
