Hey, You Lions Can't Do That! This is Disney! A Frozen Harambe Trip Report! NEW 8/27!

Oooh well in that case Dan and Mindy are super awesome! :thumbsup2 For the Horde!! :yoda: <---Kinda looks like an orc/goblin!

Pascal hunting! It'll be fun to slowly check them off your list each trip! :thumbsup2

Yay for train time. Theres a part of me that goes, thats wasting park time! But it really is perfect to relax, soak it in and as you said it's very Walt!!

Woooo! Love the spa! Soooo did any of them look at you funny being all green?!

Yes Yes, Lok'tar Ogar and all that...:goodvibes I have been playing a Troll Warlock, Goblin Priest, and BE Mage, and BE Paladin recently though. When WoD comes out I will probably pick up an Undead because they look super awesome in the new models! I am trying to learn Paladin, but Melee is such a change from Casting...Geeez!

Yes, Yes, Yes, to the Pascal Hunting!! I want to find them all!!!

Nooooo, the train is enjoying park time!!! Considering we don't really stand in lines, now those waste park time! :headache: Its so funny to me though, we definitely don't try and hit everything like we used to, we tend to enjoy the slower paced things, things with no lines, or things we can get a FP for! I enjoy the park much more, when I am not all sweaty and exhausted for trying to do too much! I used to be like that though, but not anymore!

I am happy to say they did not, well at least not to my face...what they did after I left, I don't know ;) :snooty:

Cool how the MM works on rides how about with characters pictures now? Is it different with the magic bands?

All you do instead of using the Photopass cards is get your Magic Bands scanned, so no need to carry anything extra around! Magic Bands Rock! They have been pretty good about asking what you are using ahead of time lately, because if you have a card they want you to have it ready, but most people now are either using Magic Bands, or their own cameras!

Just got caught up. What a fun time it looks like you two had at MK!

About H. Goff, our kids watched the Gene Wilder Willy Wonka movie a ton on our last trip, and they watched it so much they decided to watch the special features. Well, Harper Goff was the set designer for that movie and designed the famous factory room, where the kids could eat anything and everything they saw. When I saw his name on the sign you pointed out, I totally geeked out and explained to the kids the significance of his name. I knew he had worked on the 20,000 leagues film, but I don't think I put 2 and 2 together that his name in that location was a nod to the old submarine ride. (I think I was thinking it was just a nod to a Disney legend.) So thanks for making the connection more clear for me.

Does a haircut at Ivy Trellis and manicure at Senses mean a dinner at Victoria & Albert's? :yay:

I feel like I'm constantly commenting on the awesome Disneybounding and yummy looking food, so I'll refrain today. ;) Can't wait to see what's next. princess:

So cool! I had no idea that he designed for that film too! What an amazing talent he was!

You are correct indeed!! We were getting all spiffed up before we had to go and get ready!

I love comments, you can say all you want about Disneybounding and Food!! Ahh, food! I am so excited about F&W festival! Counting down the days until it begins! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

As soon as I finished with my manicure appointment and started heading out, I noticed that it was pouring down rain!! A few minutes later I noticed some thunder and lightning! I picked up my phone to call Jeremy and then realized that he was sitting outside waiting on me! Luckily we had packed an umbrella in the backpack today, so we could used it to get across to the villas porte-cochere! From there we would be able to walk over to the main building under cover!

We walked our way through the lobby and up to the monorail station and just as we were walking up to it, it pulled up for us!! We were having some really great transportation luck on this trip! We hopped on in our usual car, the one thats lets us off exactly at the down ramp and rode over to the Magic Kingdom stop! Off we went and walked over toward the bus station and within 5 minutes our bus to Animal Kingdom Lodge showed up and we were headed back to the resort to get ready for our night at Victoria & Albert's!

We needed to leave by 5:00 to make our 5:30 reservation and so we had plenty of time, we were dressed and ready and then we walked down to get in the car! We were driving over to V&A, it is somewhat of a hassle to be in semi-formal attire and be trying to catch buses and monorails! Don't get me wrong, we have done it before, but if we have our car, that is definitely our preference! Besides, the valet parking is free if you dine there! I took a photo of my freshly manicured nails as we were driving over!

SensesManicure_zps7034d5d7.jpg

I picked a nice subtle pearlescent color, something that would be nice and classy! I didn't want anything to stand out too much! Then I thought why not, selfie time!

AndreaCarSelfie_zpsccb0e5f6.jpg

We had the car valet parked and walked through the Grand Floridian lobby yet again, this time a little more dressed up though! As usual we got there right on time! Viviana was the Maitre d'hotel for the evening. It was very nice to see her again. She is always so kind and welcoming! It is really nice to be able to go in and kind of get to know people when we are there. Our serving team was Chris & Garrett! We had requested Chris ahead of time, we had him the previous time we were in the Main Dining Room, and really enjoyed having him! Plus as you all know, he made that awesome recommendation for us to go to FIG in Charleston, and we needed to thank him for that!

I did manage to take a few photos this time, I only took maybe 3 though, because we were in the center of the restaurant and I never really want to bother anyone else's evening with camera noises! However, on our next trip, if I remember, I will be taking loads of them since we will be at the Chef's Table!

AndreaVictoriandAlberts_zps48da33fe.jpg

This was sadly the last time that we would be able to use our Tables In Wonderland Card here. No more 20% off, so I wanted to make sure I got the upgrades that I wanted since I probably wouldn't do it again, without the discount!

For my dinner selections I chose:

Galilee Osetra Caviar with Traditional Garnishes 1/2 oz.
Pintade Fermiere Verrine with Fuji Apples and Walnuts
Mushroom Gnocchi (An option from the Vegetarian Menu)
Berkshire Pork with Mustard Spaetzle
Onion Ash Crusted Niman Ranch Lamb with Soubise Sauce
Tasting portion of the True Japanese Kobe Beef
Flagship Reserve, Comte St Antoine, Wyngaard Chevre Affine, Colston Bassett Stilton
Caramelized Banana Gateau

We also had those 3 amazing breads! The traditional baguette, summer herbed brioche, and the multigrain bread.

For Jeremy's dishes he chose:

Pintade Fermiere Verrine with Fuji Apples and Walnuts
Masago Crusted Maine Scallop with Coconut Curry Broth
Palmetto Farms Quail with Asian Pears, Serrano Ham Jus
Onion Ash Crusted Niman Ranch Lamb with Soubise Sauce
Tasting portion of the True Japanese Kobe Beef
Roasted White Chocolate Gelato with Candied Kumquats
Hawaiian Kona Chocolate Souffle

After we were finished with our dinner comes one of my favorite parts of the meal the Coffee Service with the Friandises! I love love love Pate de Fruit, tonight they had Strawberry Basil and oh my were they good!

KonaVacuumBrewer_zps4eae6f36.jpg

I seriously want one of the coffee brewers they have there, I know where to get one, and they sell the coffee beans at Victoria & Albert's considering it is a special blend just for the restaurant, you cannot get it anywhere else! We were able to speak to Chef Scott and we had a fantastic time! We had a wonderful evening there as always and were looking very much forward to our next visit, and being able to sit in the kitchen to see all the action!

We ended up being there for around 4 and a half hours this time, I would definitely call that a leisurely dinner. On our way out we said goodbye to everyone and started making our way downstairs. We did manage to take photos of each other, however, we did not get a photo of us taken together! I know, I know, I seriously need to do that sometime! They need a photopass photographer set up outside of V&A so couples can get their photos taken as they go in!

It was a little bit later than we had expected to be leaving there, so you know us, old fogies, they had called ahead to have our car pulled around for us, and so King Candy was waiting on us when we made it outside. We hopped in the car and drove back to Kidani Village for bed time! Tomorrow we had a really fun day planned! We were heading to Blizzard Beach for the first part of the day to meet our friends and have some water park fun, then on to Harambe Nights!!

Love all your updates. Your so diligent.
You look gorgeous in that dress.

Yay! I am glad you love my updates! I try to do them as frequently as I get a chance!! Every once in a while a will miss a day though :guilty:

Thank you so very much!! I really love that dress!! I was so happy when I found it for my Anniversary, that I just had to wear it again! Happy to have you reading along! :goodvibes

Last Trip Report I did a budget post so we could see how we did in relation to how much I budgeted for our trip. We got a lot of positive feedback on it, so I am going to do the same thing this time, only a tad differently. Instead of doing a budget post at the end of each post, I am going to do one for an entire day once I am finished with it. That way, with it being in a separate post, if someone wants to read it they can, and if not they can just skip over it!

This third post is going to be for Friday July 24! Our third day on vacation! So let the budget posting commence!

Budgeted Amounts:
Lunch at Be Our Guest - $50.00
Renew Manicure at Senses Spa $75.00
Gentleman's Haircut at Ivy Trellis - $60.00
Dinner at Victoria & Albert's Main Dining Room - $650.00
Remaining Snack Budget - $46.93
Remaining Souvenir Budget - $123.00

Actual Spent:
Breakfast at Main Street Bakery - $7.01
Lunch at Be Our Guest - $43.56 (Used Cash From Previous Night)
Desserts from Big Top Souvenirs - $10.63 (Used Cash From Previous Night)
Manicure at Senses - $57.75 (With DVC Discount + Gratuity)
Haircut at Ivy Trellis - $47.25 (With DVC Discount + Gratuity)
Waters from Johari Treasures - $5.00
Dinner at Victoria & Albert's - $725.00 (With TiW Discount + Gratuity)

Budget Status:
$0.84 Over Budget! :yay:
$34.92 Remaining in Snack Budget!
$123.00 Remaining in Souvenir Budget!

We had unplanned breakfast for $7.01 and Waters at the resort for $5.00, which took away $12.01 out of the overall snack budget! We used the cash we received from dinner last night to pay for our lunch and desserts! We got to use a DVC discount for both the haircut and manicure, so we had leftover funds from both of those! We ended up getting more upgrades and an extra bottle of wine at dinner, so even though dinner was more expensive than I budgeted for, it worked out because of everything else! Only 84 cents over at the moment, looking very good!! :cheer2:

It looks like you guys had a lovely meal :) Love your manicure too!

Thank you, we did! The meal was wonderful! So delicious, it is hard to even put it to words sometimes! I was very happy with my manicure! It was nice and relaxing! Sometime I want to try and get a pedicure there, that would feel lovely on my feet after walking around in the parks all day long! :goodvibes

Yeah!! We’ve got a bunch of bounds planned out for the future trips:
August involves: Lady Tremaine & Meg (I was supposed to do Drizella but the dress never came…) FOTLK birds (blue & red ones), Anna & Elsa, Aurora & Malificient, then Cap Hook & Mr Smee for the last day. I know for Sept we’re doing Aladdin, Jasmine & Genie, FOTLK bounds (different than the birds), Pooh, Piglet & Tigger, Gaston, Lefou & Belle(?) and I think the others were doing a few more but I didn’t want to have to buy any more clothing ahahaha!

Wow that salad looks good! I usually go for the kids menu at BOG lunch, I’ll have to branch out next time! Bahaha! Awesome to know that there wasn’t really a line, I was just thinking to myself “I hope we can get in for lunch in a few weeks!”

Love those friends of the princesses!! The colours in Punzie’s pictures all look so good together! Is 10 the total number of pascals?! A friend and I found a TON, we spent a good chunk of our day there, lol, but didn’t know the total number of them!

The train is definitely the place I most “feel” Walt in the parks…if that makes sense? Lol, he just loved trains so much, each trip I take a solid 15 minutes at the very end up in the train station saying “goodbye & thank you”

Man the Gflo is so pretty!! Love your pictures!! Love your ring!! And I do have to say that I think I’d agree with not wanting to take a bus in semi formal clothing, bahah!

Oh goodness that sounds like an amazingly large amount of food!! It’s definitely on my list of places to try!!

You two look so great all dappered up!! Sounds like it was a lovely time had by all!

So I was going to give you grief for not getting a picture together.....no wait I am still going to give you grief! You promised us a nice picture together looking all fancy fancy! :sad1: Your Disneybounding for Harambe better be awesome and totally distract me from this grave oversite!! ::yes::;)

Another wonderful dinner Holy cow though Over 4 hours?! Thats a marathon! Must have been fantastic!!

We have reservation at V&A after reading your first review but I'm wondering where I'm going to put all that food ... Don't want to end up in a fooda coma lol You both look great and what a lovely evening : ) I cannot wait to read about your hambre night experience!

OMG all of those Disneybounds sound fantastic!! They are so much fun to do! :rotfl2:

Yeah, I love the food at Be Our Guest lunch!! I think the closer it gets to September the less people will be there, so if we got in during the middle of July, I would think you guys would be able to!!! Eventually I may have to try it again for dinner, could have been just a fluke that I didn't like the dinner there, yeah, I will probably try again after all the craziness has died down a little.

Totally agreed about the train. I just imagine if he were at Disney World on opening day, using the quote from the Disneyland opening...lol "To all who come to this happy place, welcome!" It makes me a little sad sometimes to think about it!

Thank you so much about my ring! Jeremy got it for me as an Anniversary gift! Grand Floridian is so gorgeous, if we ever end up getting more DVC points I have seriously contemplated getting them there considering it is so difficult to get in to with DVC. Who knows though, with everything new happening at the Poly, I may change my mind!

Now that I have worn that dress there twice I am wondering what I will be wearing on the next trip...hmmm...may be time for a new dress! :cheer2:

I know!! I am a horrible person! I deserve the grief!! Seriously though, let me tell you, we did find one person to take a photo of the two of us, and it was the absolute worst photo of us I had ever seen. (Sorry if the gentleman who took the photo is reading this TR):sad2: It was so bad, that I just deleted on the spot in case I needed more memory on my card. I never delete photos like that, but this one I did. I really did want to get one, but after that one, and how much we had eaten, and how tired we were, I just got lazy. It is totally my fault, and I will not promise you something else that I cannot keep! SO, with that in mind! I PROMISE, that I will get a photo of us somewhere in the vicinity of Grand Floridian of us dressed up together, when we go in September! If I break the promise again, you never have to read another one of my PTR/TRs :rotfl2:

On the bright side, we do have lots of photos of us TOGETHER on the entire rest of the TR! So hopefully those will be enough to tide you over until September!

That dinner was amazing. Seriously though, I feel like I say that all the time, but really I am running out of words for how much we enjoy it! I am a little sad that we won't be able to use our TiW card there anymore. So I know that we definitely won't be getting all the upgrades like we used to do. So long caviar  Maybe on my birthday, who knows. I am just super duper excited to be in the kitchen next time, I want to pick up some tips on how they make all of that delicious food! :cheer2:

Yay Yay Yay!! I am so happy that you guys have a res for Victoria & Albert's!!! The portions are not too large and it is over the course of time, so I am sure you will be fine! I really hope you enjoy it!! I will feel awful if you hate it...lol...considering I helped in your decision a little :guilty: You don't have too much longer to wait for Harambe Nights!! We went there on Saturday!

you both look great for your fancy dinner! They really should have a photopass photographer at V&A considering for how many people that is a special occasion place.

I love your ring - looks very similar to one I got my wife for our anniversary - those hers has a blue sapphire in the middle

We ate at V&A for the first time last trip (for our anniversary) and it was just amazing! Those 4.5 hours just melt away. And the harppest happened to play our wedding song (The Luckiest by Ben Folds) and upon hearing about it came over to our table and gave us a CD with the song on it. The wait staff is amazing and your are right about how spectacular that coffee is!

Your choices sound awesome! Definitely bummer the no longer will take TiW though

Thank you! We love to get dressed up and fancy! Ooh I bet her ring is lovely!! How awesome that the harpist gave you a CD! I am seriously considering designing my kitchen/breakfast area in a Victoria & Albert's design, and if I do, that coffee pot will be displayed on the table! I could totally imagine myself sitting down every morning and brewing some coffee in that Kona brewer...now how practical that is, is a totally different story!

I am getting excited for you guys! I know your trip is coming up soon!! We really wanted to go this month so we could go to Villains but just couldn't work it in! I know you guys will have a fantastic trip!

We woke up this morning, luckily not as early as the other mornings! Blizzard Beach opened at 9:00am and so we wanted to get there to see what we could get done before the crowds started arriving! We put on our swimsuits, my sweet little hubby, braided my hair for me, although I had to get a youtube video for guidance! My hands are so uncoordinated when I try to braid my own hair, I can do others but not my own, I just can never get it right!

So all braided and swimsuited up we were ready to head out! We stopped at McDonald's for breakfast since it was on the way, really easy and convenient! After we left there I realized that I forgot my cell phone, I was hoping that it wouldn't be a problem later! Jeremy did have his though! We got to Blizzard Beach and found a great parking space. We sat in the car for a few minutes eating our breakfast, then we were ready to go inside!

We were supposed to be meeting our friends Dan & Mindy this morning. Jeremy had Dan's number in his phone, Mindy's number was in mine! So he tried to text/call Dan to see if they were here already or not. No answer  We decided that we would go ahead, get inside and grab a locker for our things. Now at the locker, I sunscreened up, big time! I am a little on the pale side and freckle really easily. So I always always wear a coverup and lather on sunscreen, the last thing I want is to get sunburned!! We still had not heard from them, so we texted one more time, stuck the phone in the locker and then headed over toward Cross Country Creek, the lazy river, for a bit. We decided that we would ride it around and then get back out to check our phone to see if we had missed any messages or calls!

So 20 minutes later, we walked back over to the locker to check the phone, nothing! Since Jeremy didn't have Mindy's phone number, and I had forgotten my phone, he tried to message her VIA facebook, and then email her to see if we could get in touch with them that way. We though well maybe Dan didn't have his phone and Mindy did? So we did those things and then decided to head over to Teamboat Springs! We rode with a very friendly Italian family of 3, they didn't speak very much English, but we still had fun! At the end of Teamboat Springs, they had the Mickey Float set up with a Photopass Photographer! Yes Please! Gotta Love That Memory Maker!

MickeyTube_zpsafb1a09d.jpeg

It makes me so happy to have that this time around, otherwise we wouldn't really have had any photos of us at Blizzard Beach, we did manage to take some video though with the waterproof case on the GoPro! After we finished up with the awesome Photopass Photographer, she was just so happy!! We walked back over to the locker to check the phone...nothing...we were beginning to wonder if something had happened to them?? We definitely were still in the mode of trying to stay near the locker so we ducked back into the lazy river again! As we were floating along, we saw a large camera with a person behind it wading our way! Yay, another Photopass opportunity! Sweet!

LazyRiverDouble_zpsff0b5627.jpeg

I think we went around two times maybe, and then when we made it back to the exit near Lottawatta Lodge, we jumped off there, that way we could walk past the front of the park toward the entrance to see if we could see them anywhere! We looked around for a few minutes with no luck, wait what is that I see, no, not Dan & Mindy...a Photopass Photographer!! Wheeee! :thumbsup2

SummitPlummit_zps2a866ccb.jpeg

After getting our photo taken, yet again, we stopped back by the locker to check the phone...still nothing! We now thought that more than likely, Mindy had her phone, but she didn't have Jeremy's number, so she was probably trying to contact me, which my phone was at the resort. Also, probably Dan did not have his phone with him, which would have rendered all of Jeremy's attempts useless. We could only hope that eventually Mindy would see her email or Facebook messages!

Our next choice of thing to do had us walking over toward the Red Slope and the double tube slides! we grabbed us one and headed up the stairs to the top! This water park sure has LOADS of stairs to climb! I swear I got such a good workout walking around Blizzard Beach! Once we got all the way up there, without a wait we hopped right on and down we went! We had so much fun that Jeremy immediately wanted to do it again! Guess what that means, stairs stairs stairs!! When we got finished with it the second time we thought that instead of walking back over to the locker, we would just ride the lazy river over there to check the phone again.

As we were walking down the stairs into the water of the lazy river, we spotted them!!!! Finally, at around 11:00...two hours after we had arrived we had finally found each other! They had been doing the exact same things looking for us! So for two hours we must have been criss-crossing each other all over this park! Now that we were all together, it was about that time that I needed to re-apply my sunscreen!

With that done, we decided to head over to the Toboggan Racers!! This was Dan's favorite thing to do! When it was our turn and they counted down to go, I got stuck at the top, so obviously I was not going to be the winner! Dan won!! That is a really fun slide! Next up, the four of us headed over to the lazy river again, we relaxed for a while, talked, and just floated around for about 3 laps! We were getting a little hungry so we jumped out of our tubes at Lottawatta Lodge and grabbed some Pizza for lunch, I know pizza! We seem to eat that a lot without really trying to!

When we finished up with lunch, it was about time for us to leave to go and start getting ready for Animal Kingdom and Harambe Nights! I was sad that we didn't link up with Dan & Mindy sooner in the day, we missed out on two hours of spending time with them :sad2: We slowly walked and talked back toward the lockers to grab our stuff, when what do you know, a photopass photographer that had a Magic Shot for us!!

ChillyWithOlaf_zps59b49ccf.jpeg

Somehow looking at this photo, I can't remember it being hot outside! Kind of seems like we were at a water park in winter time! We got all of our things and started making our way back to the car. We said our goodbyes and then started driving back to the resort! Luckily, we do have plans to see Dan & Mindy again on our upcoming trip in September! Now we needed to get showered and changed so we could head over to Animal Kingdom!!
