Hey! You had your trip, this time I'm in charge! Nicki & Todd LIVE!! Completed :(

I don't post on here very often but I just had to say a massive THANKYOU for all your amazing dining reviews!

I started reading this one last night and have spent most of today reading all your others as wellm:rolleyes1 Far more exciting than housework, I say!

All in the name of research of course :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Anyway, thanks again and can't wait to read your further dining adventures. popcorn::popcorn::

Glad to hear a positive review of Citrico's. It used to be one of my faves but a less than stellar experience in May had me move it down my Signature list. I'll have to give it a try again some of these days.

Jill in CO

Great reviews! Love the pumpkin cake and the photos from the buffet at The Wave.

Oh no on the Jalepeno pretzel being eh - we tried one and loved them.

What great gifts from some great friends :thumbsup2

I'm glad you both enjoyed Kouzzina - the food looks good. I'm also happy you made it to Citricos and had a great time.

I am kind of confused about the Wave breakfast, besides that it looks fraking fantastic.

I am considering bf either there or at WCC at WL. I have looked on menus from different websites including the official Disney website and allears.net, etc. I don't see any reference to a buffet. Is this new? Thanks!:goodvibes

EDIT:

I did a little digging online and found the answer. It has been an option since March. Dude, why doesn't someone update this kinda stuff!!:rotfl:

Anywho, I just booked for the Wave breakfast for our January anniversary trip. :)

All of your gifts are so sweet!! Thanks for making up my mind on Babycakes!!!! I was intrigued...until I read your review and saw your pix! Now, eh.....we will save the money, calories and time!!!! Citrico's looked great...someday!

Love, love, love your reviews!!

I didn't know about the buffet option for breakfast at the Wave, definitely a consideration for our upcoming trip, the food looked great!!

Can't wait for more, especially Food & Wine! :cool1:

Great reviews!! Sorry about the bus suckness, yuck! Thanks also for the heads up about the swan-hate perfume smell anything-instant headache. Andy is a great kid-what a thoughtful gift! Cayley loved that Todd got a pretzel for bkfst-her favorite!!

I love a good Todd and Nicki food review

I just happened upon this one and I'm so glad that I did.

How do they know when it's your birthday? I saw your name on the menu at Citrico's. Do you just note it when you make the reservation?

I take it the pumpkin cupcake at BWB is seasonal?

Loving everything so far, can't wait for more :goodvibes

Add me to the growing list who love your reviews!!! So much fun to read! I can't wait to find out what happens next.

I see you are staying at BWI, I'm staying there in Jan for the first time. Do you like it there? I have a favor to ask if you have time, if for some crazy reason you happen by the laundry room, could you please take a couple of pictures so I have an idea what's there? Unfortunately I have to do laundry while I'm there. Thanks!

I won't say much as we've been talking for the last 10 minutes.

Todd and his pretzels -- he cracks me up (be sure he finds the Mickey Mouse pretzel -- I saw a picture today and it is huge!). Sorry about the headache (that's why I won't do Rock & Roll). The bus drivers are the reason I prefer driving everywhere.

Your dinner looks yummy.

Today he skipped the pretzel...too full from F&W, but there is always tomorrow :lmao:

OMG you go fast with this reports! Citrico's looks like something to go on my to do list... As for Kouzzina, I see it still has problems with their staff... As for that jalapeño pretzel I'll have to be the judge of that, it DOES look good, but for me anything with cheese on it is yummy. :rotfl:
Hope you're feeling better.

If I dont go fast I forget things :rotfl2:

You have such kind, generous friends! :goodvibes

I'm loving your dining reviews. Sorry you weren't feeling so well for the first part of the day. I know what you mean about the buses, I can get a little car sick too on them sometimes, and they take forever when they make so many stops.

Dinner looked fantastic! Your salad looks so good and fresh!

I sure do! Had a great day, more updates coming right up

Ohhh Citricos....my love. Thanks for the photos. Hopefully they have the menu when I go in exactly one week because I want to try the Carpaccio!

It was an amazing meal!

Thank you for posting the most recent Citricos menu! I love seeing how the menus change, and right now I just wish I could try the wagyu beef carpaccio and the apple cranberry cobbler. :worship:

Happy to help, I have been stalking the WDW menus for a month trying to find it!

Love the review. So sad Babycakes was a bust. I love vegan pastries. I am hoping they improve by the time I get there...in another 6 years or so. :rolleyes1 Happy Birthday and have a great rest of your trip!

Thanks, we are having a great time!

Hope you are having a great time, Nicki!

And Happy belated Birthday!

As always, love reading your reviews...

We are going to be flying down on Thursday night...can't wait to get there!

Thanks for joining in and have a safe flight, see you soon!

So now I need to go to Citricos as well !!!
I think I am going to have to extend my trip (or waist-band )

Yes you do!

Enjoying your LIVE TR! It's always fun to follow along on a live report - almost let's the reader feel like they're experiencing it themselves. :)

So sorry the gluten free desserts were a negative. I was hoping to hear they would be good. Do the medications that are available not help you with lactose intolerance? It definitely makes things a little trickier for you food wise - but it looks like you do great at picking out yummy dishes! :woohoo:

Looking forward to reading more! :surfweb:

Thanks for following along! The Lactaid does help but I do not like to rely on it and depending on how much dairy I ingest the pills might not work 100%

Still reading and loving every minute. I am, as always, amazed at your dedication posting these reviews LIVE. I often have similar goals, but can never seem to find the time.

I don't think I've ever read a good review of Babycakes. Sorry for the wasted time/money on that experiment!

Mmmm, I had that Citricos cobbler a couple of weeks ago, and LOVED it. Almost tried the short ribs, but I just can't tear myself away from their filet. I didn't regret it at all, but one of these days I'm going to try something different there!

Sounds like you two are having a great time, and I am looking forward to reading more!

Have a magical day!!!

Sometimes its hard to post since I am so tired :rotfl: Wish I saved the $$ instead of wasting it at Babycakes but at least I can say I tried it. Loved the cobbler too...we almost had the steak but we will be eating alot of that later in the week

Loving all the reviews along the the banter between you two! :) One of these days my husband and I need to try a 2TS meal. We have not ventured into that world yet. Perhaps its because the kids (young and old) are always with!!!!! Oh, and I'm stingy with my dining credits too I suppose. Citricos does look good. Have a wonderful day at Epcot and F&W today!!!! Good Luck keeping the Hubby in line the rest of the trip!!!!!!!! ;)

Thank you! You really should try the signature restaurants, they are incredible. For many years Todd was intimidated by them but the first meal at Jiko he was won over!

Yes they are huge. :) Mk in Frontierland for the Mickey pretzel.

Lovin all the dining reveiws. Storing away all these tips for next time. :goodvibes

Sorry you got such a headache. Feeeling quesy in WDW is just not right.

Todd is getting anxious, he is dying for that big pretzel! I dont want to get on another WDW bus for the rest of the trip, feeling great today!

All caught up Nikki!! Just love your conversations with Todd !!!

Thanks Rosie!

I just love your reports. They keep getting better and better with all the conversations between you and Todd. Thanks for doing this live. Makes it even better!

Thanks Laura, glad you are enjoying it!

Great reviews. Love the peek at Citrico's current menu. I keep thinking about getting the Neverland Club for Max one night and sneaking out for an adult meal. :rolleyes1 But I probably won't, at least not on this short trip. Your meals there look fantastic, by the way. Yum. Always looking forward to more...can't wait to hear what EPCOT holds for you today. How are you enjoying the BWI?

Hi Tina! Citrico's is amazing, you would love it, we like it more than Cali Grill!

I don't post on here very often but I just had to say a massive THANKYOU for all your amazing dining reviews!

So glad you are enjoying the reviews, I love to do them as much as you love to read them! I always give up housework for Dis-ing!

Glad to hear a positive review of Citrico's. It used to be one of my faves but a less than stellar experience in May had me move it down my Signature list. I'll have to give it a try again some of these days.

Jill in CO

Hi Jill, we have had 3 excellent meals here...give it another go!

Ooh the Wave, would love to eat there again! Just found out that the BW pizza window sells the Kouzzina sangria...guess what we are getting tomorrow?

I am kind of confused about the Wave breakfast, besides that it looks fraking fantastic.

I am considering bf either there or at WCC at WL. I have looked on menus from different websites including the official Disney website and allears.net, etc. I don't see any reference to a buffet. Is this new? Thanks!:goodvibes

Great friends and every unexpected treats! Spend the Babycake money at the caramel shop in Germany instead :rotfl:

Love, love, love your reviews!!

I didn't know about the buffet option for breakfast at the Wave, definitely a consideration for our upcoming trip, the food looked great!!

Can't wait for more, especially Food & Wine! :cool1:

Thanks! The buffet just started earlier this year, it was fantastic and I am so glad we went

Just joining in. As usual, love your reviews! :worship:

Kathy

Thanks Kathy!

I know what Cayley is going to have in January!

Yum Citricos looks amazing! I really enjoyed our dinner there in May.

It was wonderful and the service was the best we have had so far!

I love a good Todd and Nicki food review

I just happened upon this one and I'm so glad that I did.

So glad you found us! I made the note online when I booked our dining reservations. I think the pumpkin is a seasonal thing, I need to get another one!

Add me to the growing list who love your reviews!!! So much fun to read! I can't wait to find out what happens next.

Welcome!! We LOVE LOVE LOVE the BWI! So funny but I did laundry today while we were at the pool, its on the 3rd floor right by the elevator, has 4 washers and 6 dryers, each one is $2 and they are for 30 minutes. THe detergent, bleach and fabric softner is $1, they have a change machine for $1-20 bills. There are 2 huge laundry carts, 3 chairs, one large table and a tv.

Hey Nicki,

Loong time lurker of your TR's...was just reading another TR on the dining board and saw pumpkin funnel cake at the kiosk in Epcot. I apparently love pumpkin just as much as you, but don't know about eating it and your lactose issue. Hope you will be able to try this and report back on it!!!!

:cheer2:

Sorry for the lack of updates but we have been going all day and this is the first chance I have to wind down (although according to DH I never do that) :goodvibes

Today we were finally getting to Epcot, we were out the door early and the line for the bakery was crazy

Me - If you think I am waiting in that for watered down coffee you are nuts

Todd - Jeez you are cranky in the morning. What are we going to eat?

Me - Who cares about that, what are we going to drink?

Todd - They have a coffee stand by England, we can get something there

Me - Ooh yeah, I forgot, lets do that

Except that stand, the one that is always open when the park opens, is not open

Me - This is your fault

Todd - How is this my fault?

Me - Dont know yet but its your fault

I remembered coffee by the Ellen Degeneres ride so I booked it over there, leaving my long legged hubby in the dust. Normally I would have a latte but they didnt have soy milk so I had a black coffee with lots of Sweet n Low. It was gross but it gave me a caffeine jolt so that was fine

My husband? Well the boy made a huge mistake, he ordered a latte! Normally it would be coffee but I swear he did this to make me jealous! The smell of it was intoxicating!

Once I had coffee coursing through me we decided to get Soaring FP and some grub. Epcot didnt look that busy which was a good sign, no wait for Sunshine Seasons either.

I knew I wanted the croissant berry french toast, I had to wait a minute for a fresh new one and it was worth it. So buttery, creamy, full of tart and sweet blueberries...we devoured this and its a pretty large cup. Not knowing if there was dairy in it I just popped my little pill and hoped for the best

Oct23003.jpg

Todd had a cinnamon bun, he said the middle was good but the outside was too hard

Oct23002.jpg

We also shared a breakfast platter, the eggs were excellent, great sausage, DH enjoyed the bacon and potatoes but the biscuit was a greasy, spongy mess and the french toast was burned on one side and very soggy. Next time we would get a side order of the eggs, they never screw those up

Oct23001.jpg

Todd - Why do we keep ordering this stupid platter, it isnt that good

Me - Hunger makes us forgetful?

Todd - I thought you never forget....

Me - Normally I dont

Todd - Hey, you are 39 and are starting to slip on me in your old age

After we did a few attractions I wanted to get to the Festival Center and check things out, get my wrist band and a schedule. I found out you can use cash or credit card to load the card but not your room key, that is something different this year from previous years

Me - Do you want a wrist band too?

Todd - Why? We are always together

Me - What if I decide to leave you in the dust?

Todd - That would be great, maybe I can finally get some rest

If only.....

When we were done it was just before 10:30 and I hear

Todd - Are the booths open yet, I'm hungry

Yeah, he wants to get some rest huh?

At 10:30am we enter the countries and are thrilled to see the F&W booths are open early...yay!

First stop was Hawaii, had the kahlua pork slider and a Mai Tai....yes I know its early but its always 5oclock somewhere!

The slider was fantastic, small yes but full of flavor and tender pork, the pineapple was not overpowering and the sauce was not that spicy...we will def get more of these.

Oct23007.jpg

The Mai Tai was excellent, it was more like a mango cocktail, great but way too small to share :rotfl:

Oct23008.jpg

Next up was my favorite booth, Greece!

The Greek salad is Todd's favorite, very fresh and tasty with a soft piece of pita

Oct23011.jpg

The chicken souvlaki is my favorite, super tender and loaded with flavor. Todd ate the bite with all the yogurt topping (oh I missed that!) and the pita was nice and soft

Oct23010.jpg

We skipped the places that had lines (and its not even 11!) and we will get back to those later. I had read a review that Morocco had a Harissa chicken roll that was similar to an egg roll so Todd was all over that...until he took a bite and handed it to me

Me - You eat it, I dont like egg rolls

Todd - Humor me and take a bite and tell me what it tastes like

Me - If its gross you are a dead man

Todd - Just do it

So I do, and I say "Hey, this is the southwest egg rolls from Chili's!!"

Yup that is exactly what they are, they have the same filling, the same taste, the only thing its missing is the avocado ranch dipping sauce!! So I love them but DH doesnt...I cannot wait to get another one! This is my must order item whenever we go out to Chili's!

Oct23013.jpg

Next stop, USA for that pumpkin mousse I have been reading about...OMG this was incredible! So cold and tasty, creamy and crunchy and chewy too...just a fantastic treat, small yes but so full of flavor!

Oct23015.jpg

Over to Germany where DH had the sausage on a pretzel roll..I had one bite and said it was too salty but DH loved it. I also took a pic of the apple strudel, have not tried that one yet but am planning on it! The goulash is next to the sausage

Oct23019.jpg

Oct23017.jpg

Oct23018.jpg

Getting really thirsty now so we shared a Peach Snap from China...my favorite drink!

Oct23020.jpg

Todd got the chicken on a stick from China, he said it was very tasty and tender

Oct23022.jpg

I was full at this point and we were getting ready to leave to go to the pool...good thing too because Epcot was becoming packed, each booth was loaded with people.

Last booth was Scandanavia, Todd had the rice pudding with strawberries and said it was very good and the Swedish meatballs with Ligonberry sauce...he took one bite and spit it out...I had to try it and did the same, these were just so gross! I also took a picture of the herring salad

Oct23025.jpg

Oct23026.jpg

I am with you No Coffe in the morning for me is NOT good !! I pospone fasting bloddwork due to the caffeine lack !!!!:rotfl2:

I have been lurking and didn't introduce myself properly. Thanks for all the info you give, it is so great for newbies like me. We will be staying at BWV sept 2012. Your conversations with your dh sound like the same ones I have with my dbf. :rotfl:

Just a thought, one thing I did find out about the bounty platters or whatever they are called was that substitutions can be made. When we were at SS last month, I told the lady I really didn't want the biscuit and she told me I could drop that and double anything I wanted, so more eggs were on my plate. (I hate wasting food). They were so nice there!:goodvibes

Glad you are following along! Yes I did see those today but we didnt get one yet...plan on doing that tomorrow...even if I just get a bite or two that would be enough for me and dont worry, it will not be wasted, Todd will eat it!

I was going to bring my own but the BWI has these new little pod coffee makers so my stuff wouldnt fit.

So happy you are here on this food trip! Good to know about the food platters...I really love the scrambled eggs, just wish I could get a bagel to go with them!
