Hey, Would-ja like to go to Florida? You Becha! Done #168! 5-26-09

Hi Mari:wave: another WI'er here. But we are on the other side of the state. So we get the bad weather first & then send it on to you. hee hee.

So with you on the weirdness horrible rain , lightening, etc this weekend & then it turned unhumanly muggy now.

Can' t wait for more.
Hi, thanks for joining in. WI weather is just really wierd the last 2 weeks. Spring is trying soo hard to get here and yet Winter still is trying to hold on. When we flew home last Sunday, I walked to work the next day in 2 inches of wet heavy snow, again.

Ice missles! :scared: You weren't kidding about that! Hope it's warmed up there some; we went to Gatlinburg for the weekend and it was 90. I hope that's not a forewarning of the kind of summer we're going to have.

I'm glad you guys have finally made it to the airport on this trip!:rotfl:
Sorry about that. And I forgot we got a new stove and dishwasher, and there was to much snow out on the curb for waste management to pick up the appliances, we just put them out on the deck till the snow melted.. How red-neck is that picture:rotfl:

Hi Heidi. I used to brag how we never got snow and the last 3 years, we have been getting hit really hard.

This winter was a breeze compared to last year - we were hit hard also and I think we had snow and cool temps right into late April :headache:

Finally at WDW.
Our plane ride was pretty uneventful.
I’m finally figuring out “direction”
when we are nearing Orlando.
Our plane actually flies down the western side of Florida
Than the plane turns East.

I had my camera ready to take pictures flying over WDW.
The only thing I could figure out was the Swan and Dolphin,
I couldn’t find the Epcot Ball or the Castle.
I figured we had to be about 10 miles north of WDW
The airport is 10 miles north/east
So once again, no luck.
I don’t know how people on the DIS can figure out where WDW is.

It was 9:30 a.m. when we finally landed.
No Magical Express for us, we had a rental car.

At least we knew where we were going today.
Plane landed on the A Side,
get on the mono-rail to go to the
B Side.

My dh ran outside and I waited for our luggage.
He should have gotten in line for our rental car.
There was only one person working the counter for National.
When I got in line, I looked at my dh ressie in his hand
he had a # for his car rental,
I headed over to the Kiosks set up.
Ya me, for knowing a secret again!!
This is so hard for me, not being the planner
and not having my binder.

I couldn’t but help smile, as I walked past the line of people waiting.

A helpful National employee, told us, pick a car on the 2nd isle over
On the right~~and the only thing I could see where those horrible
PT Cruisers.
What is with those butt-ugly cars.

Then I spotted a Pontiac G6 car, tucked between the butt-ugly’s.
And there was a guy looking it over,
And he walked to the front of the car,
And walked over to the next isle.
He turned around to come back,
"snooze you looze buddy."
I had the trunk open and I was a hauling
my one piece of luggage in.
My dh was still looking up and down the row
I don’t know what he was looking for
since there was nothing but PT’s, so he
schlepted his luggage in and walked away.
He actually went to get directions.

I jumped in the car and turned it on and the
air conditioner, man was it muggy.
Yes, we are in Florida,
80 degrees at 10:30 a.m.

This winter was a breeze compared to last year - we were hit hard also and I think we had snow and cool temps right into late April :headache:
Will it ever get warm.
Heidi, when I put my cursor over the 2 last pictures for your report, there is no link. Or didn't you put a link in yet?

I LOL'd at this. You are such a card, OhMari!!! :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

I'd have done the same thing!

Fun report so far, I'm in!

In NJ we have had over 90 degree weather the past couple of days - I don't really care for it, but much better than your pictures from last month.

Can't see Disney from your airplane picture either - I like the mystery of it just appearing!

Can't wait to read more... :surfweb:

Edited to add (to stay on topic) that my dh and ds were just at a Phillies game on the 23rd and it was against the Brewers - they beat the Phillies. It was the first Pro Game my ds went to. He said it was fun, but the Phillies stink! (only because they lost - he's a bandwagon jumper oner...)

I'm usually a truck person, and I really don't like cars, but those PT Cruisers:headache: blah!
I almost liked the Pontiac G6, till my dh pointed out, it is a gas hog.

Can't wait to read more... :surfweb:Welcome, I can't imagine 90 degree's. We maybe get one or two days of 90's and it makes the news, because it is so rare in Wisconsin. Where in NJ do you live. We visited NJ once at Ole English Town. My son had a moto-cross race there.

LOL, I'm a bandwagon jumper too, especially when we get the owner's suite for a game. LOL

Guess who was on his phone~~
Again.
His co-worker called and said,
He and his wife were just packing up,
heading out the door for their 4:00 p.m. flight.
He was surprised that we took an earlier flight.

I was on the phone with WDW Dining,
to see if we could get an ADR at 11:30 a.m.
for Trails End Buffet.

My dh asked the other couple, if they wanted
to be picked up at the airport, since we had a rental.
He also asked if they wanted to eat supper with us at WDW.
By this time, I asked the CM if there was an opening at O’Hana’s
and there was, 9:30 p.m.
We figured we could show them the Poly, Grand Floridian
and the Contemporary, since they want to book a trip for next Fall.

But, they didn’t want too.:confused3 Seriously!!
They wanted their own rental car and just wanted to go
check into the hotel for the evening.

Scrap, O’Hana:sad2:

I was still on hold, and asked if The Plaza
had an opening at 9:00 p.m.
And they did.
Ice Cream for supper!!

We forked over the $12 parking fee,
And drove over to the parking lot, closest
to the Poly. We walked over to the Poly
and got on the mono-rail and then hopped
on the Ferry to Wilderness Campground.
We like Disney Transportation.

I’m not really a fan of Trails End, but my dh
likes the idea, that he an first get the breakfast buffet,
and then I can get the lunch buffet,
pack lots of tums if you eat here!!

We took the Ferry back to the Contemporary,
I wanted to talk to a DVC rep. about the Bay Lake Towers.
My dh looked at me and just shook his head.
He was currently on his phone again, so we
took a siesta out by the pool bar, before heading
into the MK.
No DVC tour.
I tried Michelle,
thank you for those pictures,
but dh still would rather do resale for the
Beach Club.

We spent the rest of the day at the MK.
I didn’t grab my camera~~I think jet lag
fried me a little.
We did get some photopass pictures
And I will put them in later.
According to another site, cough UG cough
the crowd is suppose to be a 10 for crowds.
We were still able to get a fast pass at Space Mountain for
way later in the evening.
We really didn't have anything special we
wanted to do.
I just thought it would be fun to watch
a few shows.
Usually we don't take anytime for the Castle Show,
or parades,
so it was a slow, lazy day.

After our ice cream supper,
we did order hamburgers,
we walked outside and found empty chairs again.
I think this is really a last stop for people
and waited for WISHES.

I just e-mailed my dh, and asked him
for his Tink picture.
He tried capturing her with his cell phone.

ry%3D400

The MK was open till midnight for us regular folks,
and was open till 3:00 a.m. for resorts guests.
We made it till 12:30 and finally left for our
hotel.
We stayed late because I can never sleep the
first nite, no matter where I am.
If it is not my bed or pillow,
I'm like this all nite :dance3:

We were going to Epcot in the morning,
and dh sent his co-worker an e-mail to
see if they wanted to go along.

Ugh, all that snow/ice! This winter was definitely not fun. Though I did enjoy the couple days off of school when it was so cold...

carone0318, I am actually going to be in NJ at the end of the month for my dad's college reunion. :thumbsup2 (sorry OhMari, I am hijacking your thread again!)

Trying to stay on topic...great updates, looking forward to hearing about Epcot.

I am really enjoying your trip report. I know what you mean about the first night away from home. I can never sleep that first night and sometimes the second night. I am usually so tired by the third night, that it doesn't matter where I am. :lmao:

Guess who got 2 free tickets to the Brewer game tonite:rotfl: and if you were watching the game, did you see poor Braun get nailed with the pitch? ouch.

I knew I wouldn't fall asleep. I think I saw 3:30 and I was back up by 6:30 a.m.

Are you at the Brewers game right now????? Cheap shot on Braun. Looks like a good crowd tonight.popcorn::

I love all your updates, how nice that you were able to take the earlier flight. Was it free since you were business class? The trails end buffet sounds interesting, my trips are usually so short, so we like to hit our favorites. I love Ohana, and have not had any luck getting a reservation on the last few trips.

Too funny about the redneck deck/appliance pictures. Can't do much with all that snow, it sure was crazy this year. I swear the same snow from prior to Christmas was still on the ground at the end of March!

I love all your updates, how nice that you were able to take the earlier flight. Was it free since you were business class? AirTran lets you fly standby if there are open seats. I called the day before and found out the flight wasn't full at all. And then the customer service said we can change to the flight, because we were business class. So it all worked out. The trails end buffet sounds interesting, my trips are usually so short, so we like to hit our favorites. I love Ohana, and have not had any luck getting a reservation on the last few trips. I trying calling first, then going to a consiere (sp?) in a resort, then walk-up is my last thing I try. I was surprised too that O'hana was open that evening, but it was a late time, so that is probably why.

It's wierd seeing green grass now, and the trees are trying so hard to just bud out.

As I answered you over in my TR, there is no link yet because I haven't started those two!

I'm all for slow lazy days!!

That was a great shot of Tink using only a cell phone! :thumbsup2

Pssttt - I've never seen Tink fly down from the castle before, bad girl, I know! :cool2: Dd has though, so that's what counts...

Can't wait to hear about Epcot. :wizard:

About NJ, I know exactly where Englishtown is (that would be considered Central Jersey), but I now live in South Jersey. I'm about 30 minutes north of Philly and it takes about an hour to the beach.

What's up with that co-worker not wanting to go to dinner at O'Hana - do you really want to hang with people like that??? :lmao:

Guess who got 2 free tickets to the Brewer game tonite:rotfl: and if you were watching the game, did you see poor Braun get nailed with the pitch? ouch.

haha, no way, where was he sitting?! I was there with my dad and sister...because of the half-off tickets we were right in front of the press box. On the radio after the game Braun said he thought the guy hit him on purpose. I swear that pitcher hit about 4 guys. :confused3

Are you at the Brewers game right now????? Cheap shot on Braun. Looks like a good crowd tonight.popcorn::

I was there, it was a good crowd. Great 8th inning. :woohoo: And everyone was pretty excited when Trevor Hoffman came in.

If you want a great spot to watch Tink and Wishes, either get to the "Noodle Station, or outside The Plaza resturant. You will have a few trees for Wishes, but it is a great area, or go in front of the Castle by the Hub and you will see everything. Most people clear out after Spectro Parade and you can usually find a decent area by the Castle.

It was a great game last nite, usually we flip around while watching, but not last night. We saw our ds and dd on tv, that was wierd. It was like, "there they are? LOL

My dh has a 5 pixel on his cell, he uses it quite a lot of work, so it had to be decent. He texted me back and asked if he could remove the pic now. LOL.

Great trip report, so far... I can't wait to read more!!! I am not going to WDW this year (was suppose too) My son wants to see Criss Angel, so we are headed to Las Vegas... So I need my Disney fix...

Great Pics. :thumbsup2 I am beginning to read your TR still behind there is only so much I can read while am at work :rotfl2: I love your snow I have never seen snow I live in Houston. You probably tired of it by now do you wanna switch :rotfl: I'm in want to hear more.
