Hey, Would-ja like to go to Florida? You Becha! Done #168! 5-26-09

Hi Omari!! :wave2:

A fellow Wisconsinite here! Yes it was a brutal winter!! I am so glad we are almost done!! Can't wait to here more.

Do you ever get to Milwaukee for Brewer games? I took my DD daughter and friend last week during spring break and we got there really early I mean really early. When this offical Brewer looking guy walks up to us in line and asks if we are cold. We say yes and then he proceeds to ask us if we would like to come inside and watch the Brewers batting practice! We of course said YES!! So he takes us in right down on the field! They had a roped off section just for us it was so awsome! There were no other fans there we were there about and hours just watching! The girls being the Tweens they are, are waving to all the players and they wave back they threw them some baseballs. We were so excited! It really made our night even though they lost. Next game we are going to is on Mothers Day against the Cubs. Should be fun.

I go to a few games.
My son David lives in Oak Creek and works in Milwaukee and he attends a lot of home games. He is usually in the cheap seats with his friends.

That was really exciting for you and your girls to get to go inside.

I just found out Corey Hart graduated in Bowling Green Kentucky with a bunch of my counsins kids. He graduated in 2003 and they all know him really well. They can't wait to come up by us and we are all going in June.

Another fellow WI Dis member. Can't wait to see what happens on this trip.

I love the Badger Band, esp the 5th Quarter. We go to a lot of sporting events in Milwaukee, although we are not big hockey fans.

Too funny about the comment "I wonder what -26 looks like":rotfl2:
Usually clear, with lots of people moving fast from place to place.

Gotta love a surprise trip to WDW!

I'll pass on all that snow, too. A few snow days per school year here satisfies me, and we can still pretty much get out and about at all times. I wouldn't want to be any further north, because there's too much snow and it's too far away from Disney World!

It's great that you had all your kids in one place at the same time. Everybody under one roof together - for us the older they get it's become a little harder with such different schedules.

I'm looking forward to hearing about this unexpected surprise trip!

:rotfl: - After seeing OhMari's pictures, I can imagine that there are a lot of people moving fast! You'd never see me out of my house and I'd be bundled up in like twelve electric blankets.

I swear, I'll never complain about it being cold here again, EVER! :goodvibes

Nice to see another Wisconsinite. I bundled up and took a walk last nite around 7:00. It was wierd that the sun was still shining and the temperature was 35. I was just thinking, is spring ever going to get here and then I heard the crazy robbins singing. LOL.

Hi MeMom. I have to get back to your report and see how far you are.

Looking forward to hearing about your trip!
Welcome!!

We wouldn't have anything to complain about in Wisconsin, if we didn't have the cold weather.

I missed my snow. I can't wait for the next snow season. I would love to go to Anartic some day for an expedition at least once. I can only handle hot weather for a very small amount of time.

I'm in too, and hi to the other fellow Wisconsinites on here! :wave2:

Ohhhh that is so cool! I'd love to meet some of the players...:lovestruc  We went to spring training last year and at one of the games we went to my sister and I got Ryan Braun's autograph. That pretty much made her day.

We have tickets for the game on Mother's Day too but I think we're probably going to trade them in. We went to the game on Easter when they were playing the Cubs and I think one Cubs game a season is enough for me. :crazy2::crazy2::crazy2:

My TR is officially hi-jacked.
I like to say, "your trip report should be hi-jacked at least once. LOL"

Anyway, my son went last season, I think it was the play offs, when the Brewers played the Cubs. Anyhow, my sons best friend got his nose broke, from a girl. This guy was talking back and forth how great the cubs were, and my son and his friend, were giving it back. Everything was good, but then the guys girlfriend came up and punched Scott really hard and broke his nose. The guy started freaking out, and apologizing, and the girl was like, "bring it on". Scott seriously wanted to hit her back, he never saw the punch coming again. My son and the girls boyfriend held both of them back.

Ya, brewer fan and cub fans don't mix too well.

I'm hoping to get an update up this weekend.
I promised myself I would spring clean today, but the rain and thunderstorms, just make me want to curl up and watch tv and sleep.

haha, hey, I had to return the favor! :teeth:

Wow, that is quite the story! Luckily when we went we had one Cubs guy sitting by us and that was about it. I think all the other Cubs fans were all in the lower level.

Know how you feel about the weather today. Can't wait for your next update.

About 6:00 p.m. is was doing absolutely nothing outside.
Then we heard a huge bang, like a explosion outside.
My son was getting some ice cream out of the refrigerator, and he saw a lightning bolt hit the ground and then the thunder. We all flew out of our seats. I was on the computer and I thought for sure, our electronics in the house would be fried.

Everyone is watching the Brewers, so I thought I would do a small update.

I found some more pictures of our snow-bound house.
We were all sick of shoveling and the driveway proves
of our laziness.

The village guys hate us too,
they don't know where to go with the snow,
so they dump the snow from the road onto our lawn.

I pointed out to my sons the ice missiles that were forming on our house.
I told them, if they fell on anyone, it would kill them, so the boys went
outside and knocked them off the house. David decided to have some
javelin throwing practice.

I was more than ready to get out of Wisconsin and bask
in the warmth of Florida.

These pictures were taken March 18th.

27 days later, we finally left for the airport in Milwaukee.

Since no one had to drop us off
we parked the truck in the daily parking structure
and I took pictures, because most times, I can't
remember where I parked after going into a grocery store,
or our local mall.

Guess who forgot to shut their window?:rolleyes1

We were suppose to have a 3:00 p.m. flight out,
but I checked on the AirTran site and they
had a direct flight out at 6:00 a.m.
We had Business Class seats
because this trip was work related,
I talked my dh into switching the flight.:woohoo:

Who wants to wait all day if you can go here.

I can't believe all that snow.....I always assume you MerriCans never have that much :rotfl:

What a nice surprise from your DH!!! Looking forward to more

You just gotta love Wisconsin weather. It can snow and be -10 one day and the next week be sunny and balmy and in the 60's!

Omari I love your house! It's a victorian right??

Hi Heidi. I used to brag how we never got snow and the last 3 years, we have been getting hit really hard.

My house was built in 1895 and it is called a "Farm House". In the other picture is my sisters house and they call her home a Fond du Lac Square

  1. My great-great uncle actually built these homes and he was a German. Our homes look Victorian, but they are probably considered a slight knock off of Victorians. About 12 miles away, there is a road that has the classic Victorians and the color of the homes are purple, blues and yellow, green. Ours are white and grey's.

Hi Mari:wave: another WI'er here. But we are on the other side of the state. So we get the bad weather first & then send it on to you. hee hee.

So with you on the weirdness horrible rain , lightening, etc this weekend & then it turned unhumanly muggy now.

Can' t wait for more.

Ice missles! :scared: You weren't kidding about that! Hope it's warmed up there some; we went to Gatlinburg for the weekend and it was 90. I hope that's not a forewarning of the kind of summer we're going to have.

I'm glad you guys have finally made it to the airport on this trip!:rotfl:
